OMG - I have been using Splenda and guess what - have gained weight. Went to Dr today to discuss this. Are there any artificial sweeteners that are ok? How about Stevia?

I have to lay off red meat, pork, butter, cheese...emphasize chicken, fish, fruits and veggies and high quality bread is ok....plus 1/2 hr exercise a day.

I’d better make sure I don’t forget the probiotic.

You might consider looking for a dietician or doctor who is more forward looking about diet. There is a mountain of evidence piling up that fatty foods like butter, cheese, and red meat have absolutely nothing to do with weight gain or heart disease. You should probably worry more about the bread and even the fruits, which are high in sugar and carbohydrates.

There was yet another new study showing butter isn't bad that came out last week: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2946617/Butter-ISN-T-bad-Major-study-says-80s-advice-dairy-fats-flawed.html

Eat fat and you will lose weight. Make sure it’s not hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated. Fat in butter and meat is healthy for us. Cut out sugar, sugar subs, all processed foods, and simple carbs. The weight will melt off and you will also feel better. For example, when I fall off of this wagon the arthritis in my feet hurts. I’m perfectly fine and pain free when I’m on the wagon.
