LINK to that debate is in Post # 14.
IBTACF
I'm beginning to think it's not possible to be IBTACF on any Walker thread.....:-)
He needs to clearly enunciate that he is on the side of the rule of law and the citizens.
I have been clear that I will not support anyone who is not.
All this changes after the first couple of debates. Not to knock Walker, but Cruz has his head tied on straight.
Ted Cruz is by far and away the best candidate, but I think Scott Walker is a very fine candidate, and his handling of the press shows he can play in the big leagues. If Cruz can't catch fire, I would be able to support Walker, but we would need to really work on him with respect to this issue.
Walker: I would Love to have Mitt Romney’s Endorsement
When you take a RINO’s endorsement, voter base and donor rolls, it is not being given to you free of strings. Walker supporters should expect him to shift further left, not right, with these new gifts.
A choice between Walker and Cruz? I’d have to pinch myself to see whether I was dreaming.
Wisconsin governor recall election Scott Walker vs. Tom Barrett
[I was born in WI too.]
Be sure to watch that debate LINKED in Post #14.
Those are my two favorites. I do like Jindal, based on what I know about him.
The Cruzer got a lower percentage of the Texas vote in 2012 than Mediocre Mitt,
so its not like he was a superstar in the Lone Star state.
************
Dat’s true but less than .75% isn’t a big difference when less people voted in that race.
Something approaching 130,000 more voters in the Gov. race than in the Senate race.
Cruz lost to the former Lt. Gov. in the GOP Senate primary by over 10% but came on
to win the runoff by over 13%. Cruz is bascially new in Texas electoral politics.
My point is that everyone correctly points out that Mediocre Mitt was a very weak candidate. Running behind him in percentage of the vote is NOT an indicator of strength.
It’s like saying “hey look at us, we finished second in the NFC South division”
Each to his own perceptions. I still think that comparing Cruz to the President in a
statewide race isn’t the same. Most Presidential elections get more voters than do any
other race on the ballot. Cruz defeated the long time Lt. Gov easily in the general which
was only his 2nd statewide race. The first being the GOP primary which he came in 2nd.
I agree. That's why I wasn't comparing Cruz's total number of votes, but his percentage of the vote.
BS, we don’t rank Walker as high as Cruz.
lurktheloon is not interested in understanding Walker, he is a one of the FReepers that no candidate will ever satisfy.
He'd bitch about Jesus walking on water, and no one will satisfy his ideal.
I’m in Virgina, a very long way from the southwest and we are overrun with illegal aliens. By this time, most states are, WI included.
I’ve seen postings from WI freepers who have stated that there are plenty of illegals in WI.
Yep, John Cornyn got less votes both in number and percent
in 2008 than did John McCain. It just works out that way.
Take care.
Any candidate with an R good enough for you? Jeb will appreciate your vote.
I just want one who believes in the rule of law, doesn’t seem like too much to ask.
Ted Cruz is still tap dancing around the issue of announcing. Once he get serious about running then I expect he’ll be able to pull ahead of Walker in Texas and in other states.
