According to the dominant media narrative, Jeb Bush runs to the center. But history tells a different story
Election Day 2016 is just a bit less than two years away, so youve got more than enough time
to prepare. But if youre not numb to it already, get used to this phrase, because youre going to
hear it constantly in the weeks and months to come:
Jeb Bush, the moderate former governor of Florida
In terms of convenient but factually dubious crutches that will be leaned on constantly by the
horse-race media, the Bush-the-moderate narrative is poised to blow its competition out of the
water. Its lesser cousin, Bush-the-genius, wont even come close.
The problem with seeing Jeb Bush this way is rather simple: Unless moderate simply means
to the left of Ted Cruz which, to be fair, it very well might! it is a terrible descriptor
for Bushs record. Indeed, when University of Northern Florida professor Matthew Corrigan needed
a name for his new book on Bush, he went withh Conservative Hurricane: How Jeb Bush Remade
Florida. He did so with good reason, as his review of Bushs track record demonstrates on
education and affirmative action, on taxes and reproductive rights he did so with good reason.
Recently, Salon spoke with Corrigan over the phone about his book. Our conversation touches not only
on Bushs policy record, but also his governing style, his personality type, his vision of the role
of government and how hed likely act if he became the United States 45th president.
Article Why Jeb Bush is more conservative than you think
(Excerpt) Read more at salon.com ...
Wow, the MSM can totally recycle all the Romney-is-really-a-conservative articles and just insert Jeb’s name.
i’m pretty sure the moment you endorse amnesty you give up any pretense to being an American conservative
Hmmmm.
Another article from a leftist publication that claims Jeb Bush is a conservative.
It is curious that leftist pubs/commentators/writers are pushing for Jebster.
It won’t be long before they are claiming he is the only Pubbie candidate who can bring about bipartisanship.
One such commentator/writer already claimed that a Prez Jeb would lock down the southern border. [I am still chuckling about that claim.]
Recently, Jeb did claim to be a “reform” conservative. He didn’t really explain what he meant by that. Too many of use are still reeling from the ‘compassionate’ conservative — who just happens to be Jeb’s brother.
If liberals have to tell us he’s “more conservative than we think”, he’s not more conservative than we think.
Ha Ha Ha Salon Ha Ha Ha
(Pushes for amnesty for illegals) + (Loves common core) + (I don’t care what else) = liberal
These are big ticket, liberty destroying items in the red column. The math doesn’t lie.
Mike Pence is electable. Scott Walker is electable. Rubio may be electable. Rand Paul may be electable.
Ben Carson is not. Jeb Bush is not. Lindsay Graham is a joke.
Wait, this is about JEB? Oh shoot, sorry. Here we go again.
NO HE IS NOT
They hope to come into the elections with an Open Borders D opposed by an Open Borders R. That way either way, whoever wins, they win. A Gay Marriage D versus a Gay Marriage R, even better.
I say, cut to the chase and have Bush and Hillary run on the same ticket. Bush/Clinton might be their dream ticket.
they can try all they want to shove Jeb Bush up my ass.
I will not vote for a non conservative again.
Fed up with the damned GOP shoving middle of the road crap up there.
Actually, the editor at Salon has a firm grasp of the differences between a conservative and a republican.
Which means that this garbage was allowed to be published on purpose. Many here on this thread have already identified this as propoganda.
Good grief, all the evidence is pointing to Jeb as being closer to the views of Hillary than even Romney was.
Just say no to BushIII!
Jeb Bush IS a Democrat an all but the tag on the end.
Then again, so are many who wear the R jersey.
I think your “Chamber of Commerce Conservative” fits well.
Progressives have a very hard time distinguishing between “Conservative” statism and that type of Constitutional Conservatism that should properly be called “Classical Liberalism”
Thats why Progs see Obamacare, being totally serious about it, as a “Conservative” policy ... because it makes use of private industry. Just like how they’re baffled at Conservative opposition to Amnesty because it denys the private sector plentiful cheap labor, and which leads them to the mistaken conclusion that opposition is driven by base racial/ethnic bigotry.
NO . SALE . !
The Chamber of Commerce is a purely fascist entity at this point. All their lobbying and policies are perfectly in line with German industry when the Nazi’s came to power. The Chamber of Commerce is scared crapless of an actual free market. The Chamber of Commerce is devoid of any honesty, loyalty, patriotism and love of country. They are at this point fascist internationalist, and traitorous scum.
And we know that Salon wants the Republican to win next year, right? Obviously, anyone endorsed by the Leftist media should be disqualified as a potential GOP candidate. They will all be covering Hillary’s ample a** by this time next year, no matter what she has done in the past or will say on the campaign trail. That is Job #1 for the Democrat media.
Salon has no more idea what makes a conservative than they have about what it means to love one’s country.
That pretty well sums up my attitude. I simply will not vote for liberals regardless of their party affiliation. As for the GOP (i.e., the liberal lite party), it is still as stupid as ever and not something I support. My money goes directly to candidates I support (e.g., Walker).
