Air to AirSomeone apparently needs to tell Raytheon that that means you launch it from an aircraft. If you launch it from the ground, it's not an air-to-air missile.

Back when, the AMRAAM was very hard to deter with ECM. Should be good ground defense against incoming aircraft with standoff jammers.
