JOHANNESBURG — A video purported to be by Somalia's al-Qaida-linked rebel group al-Shabab urged Muslims to attack shopping malls in the U.S., Canada, Britain and other Western countries.
In the video, released late Saturday, the extremist group again said its September 2013 attack on the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, was in reprisal for Kenyan military involvement in Somalia. Sixty-seven people died in the attack. The video, using footage from major news organizations, showed the assault on the mall.
The masked narrator of the 76-minute video warned of more attacks in Kenya and concluded by calling on Muslims to attack shopping malls, specifically mentioning the Mall of America in Minnesota, the West Edmonton Mall in Canada and the Westfield mall in Stratford, England.

Good advice! And when it starts, there should be no stopping for any reason until the slime that is left is either neutralized or begging to be put in custody for their own protection. Then we can begin to clean out other types of foreign invaders. America has become a rummage bin for any pos that wants to come here and see what they can drain from us or how they can overcome us; and all with the help of our “President”.

I meant that one day they will strike where YOU are. One day, they will stop doing the “big” things, and they will start hitting us every day, all over the place, so we can’t feel safe behind statistics anymore.
I have been in Pioneer Square in Portland Oregon. During one of the Christmas celebrations with maybe around 50,000 people there, an Islamic bomber drove a panel van right up to that crowd and then left the area to set off the bomb. The FBI was on to him and caught him.
I’ve been in those Christmas celebrations before ... but happened to miss that one. As far as I’m concerned, they’ve already been where I was at!
It’s been a continual low-grade war in the USA for quite a while, even if the American Public is oblivious to it.

That’s an example of a “big” attack. A citizen with a J-frame can’t do much to stop that. I’m talking about people like Hassan or the Oklahoma beheading guy or the guy in England who attacked and beheaded the soldier. Just “random” acts of violence (or Sudden Jihad Syndrome) where a citizen with a gun can make a difference.
Let’s bring more Syrians to America! It will even the terrorism out.
Chuck Norris knows how to deal with shopping mall attacks. If we armed the citizenry there would be a huge impediment to those attacks.
We’ve got a lot of those “attacks” in Tulsa ... except they’re not Islamic. A lot of killings going on in Tulsa and I’ve been “minutes” away from one or the other kind of shooting ... meaning that with about four or five of them ... I’ve been a few minutes before it or a few minutes after it — it was just luck I wasn’t right in the middle of it!
That kind of stuff is going on ... right now ... all around me.
I know that people are referring to Islamic attacks ... but I stand about 100-to-1 chance of getting shot or killed by my fellow citizens and neighbors, right now, than I do from Islamic Terrorists. This stuff going on around me is very real — RIGHT NOW — and not just a “prediction” of what some “lone wolf terrorist” is going to do to me next week or next year.

We’ve got a good number of armed citizens in Oklahoma and in Tulsa. I know, because I know quite a few around me. HOWEVER ... let me tell you that while this is good for the good guys, in order to protect themselves of some others around them in a critical situation ... it really is NOT a deterrent ... because the bad guys are treating it all as if they are in the Wild Wild West, and they are ready to take their chances — and THEY DO.
It’s basically NOT A DETERRENT, but it can end up being a protection for someone, if they are in a critically life threatening situation ... not always, but it “can be”.

Being minutes before it or minutes after it means that you weren’t there. Someone else was there. They should have been carrying a weapon. That’s what I’m trying to say. Whether it is a crackhead, a lunatic bum, or a Jihadi, they are expecting an unarmed victim.
I have been “there” for an attack. I showed them a gun when they did not expect a gun. They ran away.
I believe there are also a bunch in Rochester: home of the Mayo Clinic.
It’s the “luck of the draw” when you are there, within minutes. You can just as easily be right there.
That’s as opposed to someone sitting in their house, looking at the news, and seeing something like that reported, about 10 or 20 miles away, and they say, “I could have been there!” ... LOL ...

As this report concerns Minnesota, I am reminded that from what I have seen, a large number of the teens/young adults being recruited by ISIS are foreign immigrants—Somalians for example—not your average born in USA Midwestern Minnesotan teen. Thots on this? Does anyone have any stats on the background of people from US being recruited by ISIS?
Good thing we’re not about to de-fund the Department of Homeland Security.
You carrying is good for you, but it doesn’t provide the deterrent for when two groups start shooting at each other and by the time it’s been stopped or over, some others around the situation “get it” in the meantime.
There was an unfortunate incident in a Best Buy (or some similar store, can’t remember exactly now) where someone not even in the immediate vicinity (inside the store) was shot and killed, by a bullet meant for someone else (it was a guy going after someone else to kill him).
Then there was the Sonic where a guy shot out the locked door (where the employees are) in order to rob them. In that case, no employee was shot, but bullets went flying nonetheless. I go to that Sonic all the time, but wasn’t there at that time. And the same guy went over to Braums and robbed them, but at that time, he didn’t fire the weapon. That’s only two blocks from me ... and we’re talking about the Brookside neighborhood in Tulsa, which is a hotspot for people coming here and shopping and eating and is a good neighborhood.
Then right across the street from that Braums, the Autozone was the scene of an attempted robbery (with a gun) but no one was shot, at that time, fortunately.
Then you can add to that, a shooting by an off-duty police officer, shooting the boyfriend of his adopted daughter (killing him) ... and this was in the area of Guthrie Green, an open-air concert area where people gather for these concerts. I go there, too, for those concerts, but wasn’t there at the time of that shooting by the off-duty police officer. (and this was a well-respected police officer, on the job for a long time, have a good record and no problems at all with his job, well-liked by the community).
Just a few days ago there was some guy who saw his girlfriend talking to another guy (which apparently he didn’t like) so he returns very suddenly and just starts shooting immediately. He was easy to catch, but the other guy is still just as dead.
These are the things going on, and they don’t get stopped by a whole lot of people here in the area who are carrying concealed. A lot of this stuff happens quick and is over in literally seconds, and while it is very well known that there are a whole lot of concealed carry people around ... it doesn’t stop the Wild Wild West mentality from happening, from these other people who seem to be “up” for a western-style” shoot ‘em up altercation.
It’s getting real crazy around here.

I didn’t say that ... what I am saying is that one shouldn’t be fooled into thinking that there is any deterrent in these situations by a lot of people carrying (concealed). We KNOW here that there are a whole lot doing so. And while it may be advantageous for a particular individual, if they happen to be aware of a developing situation ... and thus they can protect themselves ... it simply does not provide the deterrent for those who act quickly and irrationally and kill others, with their “Wild West” mentality (even if it is inadvertent) ... and even if they are quickly killed immediately following the incident.
It would seem that we’ve come to the point where everyone is willing to “take their chances” with letting bullets fly, regardless of the consequences. The protection factor may definitely be there for certain situations where someone is able to successfully defend themselves (in action) but the “deterrence factor” is not there.
So, I would tell people to not rely on the deterrence factor, but do rely on being able to defend oneself.
