Good news for hang glider pilots, we never fly in poor conditions, unlike commercial airliners. Different envelope.
Also, flying hang gliders was never a question for me, I was born with a hang gliding gene - in Michigan of all places. My dreams were filled with powerless flight from birth.
Eventually, after years of training I settled into the Torrey Pines scene as a Torrey Rat. A regular pilot on the cliff diving wing overs for the crowd. Of course, no one but the guys I flew with would remember my name and I’m not even sure about them at this point. Steve Stackable still works there as a trainer (not mine) I think.
...we would all fly over the golf course during the Buick Open trying to get on TV. lol - great memories...
Sounds lovely.
