"Since the media is complicit in suppressing the truth, aiding the straying from the Constitution, fighting against representative government in favor of authoritative government, and could careless about fiscal sanity because they don't really grasp its importance."

I grew up in a military family, and since I was able to read, I was fascinated by military history having a house full of artifacts from WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, occupied Germany, etc. From my earliest years I could not understand how people would be so blind to fall for the absurd, ridiculous over-the-top propaganda of the Nazis, Kim Il Sung, the Soviets, etc. I double majored in History and Art History, and while on an intellectual level, I understood the power of propagating myth and the emotional draw of images, I never could have imagined the American people falling for such, hook, line and sinker, but now see with much clarity, how wrong I was.

The admonition that people who believe in nothing will fall for anything could not have been more prescient and sadly, it is the secular, humanist left who understands that better than anybody, and has worked assiduously over the last century to remove God from, and inject moral relativism into, every aspect of the public conscience, and we are now harvesting the fruits. As CS Lewis wrote in 1943, "We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."

I too was from a military family, but must admit that history was not something I paid attention to. After all it was boring. My history teacher BTW, was Joe McCarthy's granddaughter. Like I was even impressed by that or even knew who Joe McCarthy was at that point in time. Nor did I understand why our country was exceptional and unlike any other country before or since. But I did assume, as incorrectly as you, that it could never happen here so why worry about history. Matter of fact I used to snicker at my dad and think him delusional & paranoid when he would rant that communists were taking control of our schools.

The old saying, the older I get the smarter my father becomes, is so true.

The communists knew they could never defeat a capitalist free society with weapons and money in a head to head battle. However, they also knew that they could defeat us if they took their time to re-educate the youth of America. They then used American freedoms to work against Americans. Convincing the less successful and the minorities that their plight was not their doing but rather someone else's doing, they began dividing our population into small segments that would fight against each other. To further dilute the cohesion within our population they used our inherent kindness to create a welfare system. Small at first but guaranteed to grow bigger & bigger. This not only increased the division within America but also depleted America's resources with a slow slide into financial insolvency. The final act is now being played out in the form of mass illegal immigration guaranteed to speed the financial insolvency it has worked so patiently to achieve.

There are a lot of Americans who fail to see any of what is happening to them, nor do I see many having that epiphany in the near future. Much like cooking a frog. If you put the frog in cold water and slowly turn up the heat they never realize they are being cooked.

Laissez les bons temps rouler (Let the good times roll), will soon become a memory, because we are rolling into our own demise. Just like a frog.
