Obama: “I read in the newspaper that yesterday, December 7, 1941, a date which will live as a bump in the road – The United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan, the overwhelming majority of which are a peaceful people with legitimate grievances of their own. Therefore, before we get on our high horse, in order to better understand the root causes that lead to such behavior, I am convening a three day conference to discuss ways in which we can reach out to them and bring a peaceful solution what was obviously a random act on the part of a few disenfranchised people of the Asian world.”

Yesterday, December 7th, 1941, the date when I first realized how much more I have to do before I can begin to bring peace to the world, a group of extremists committed an act of random violence against some government employees over in Asia. Because I grew up in Hawaii and I’ve always considered it my home state, the news of this kinetic military action concerned me.

Although the extremists were from the nation of Japan, we must be careful not to consider all Japanese as extremists. These displaced youth who can’t find work in their homeland (because of American corporations stealing all of their resources) represent only a tiny fraction of the entire Japanese people.

When ever I go to Japan, I always make sure to bow in respect to this ancient culture of dignity and peace. So, even though some of our countrymen were hurt in this random act, I know that the Japanese at heart want only peace with America.

My security advisor assures me that these misguided youth were unfortunately incited to commit this crime because of an anti-Japanese video produced by a homegrown conservative terrorist here in America.

Therefore, I am sending a delegation to Tokyo to negotiate terms of peace among our two countries. And me me say firmly, that If the Japanese leaders don’t listen, I am drawing a red line that if crossed will cause me to lose patience and will not take any options off the table, including stiff economic and cultural sanctions.

As I said in my book, Dreams from my Father, We are the ones we have been waiting for. We are the ones who will bring hope and change. We are the ones will will make the oceans recede and see the planet healed.

So let me conclude with these final thoughts: If you like your Pearl Harbor, you can keep your Pearl Harbor. Thank you very much! And may Allah bless America!
