The Simple Secret to Surviving Any Crisis
World Net Daily ^ | 02/20/2015 | Patrice Lewis

Some time ago I collected a few links about why some people survive a disaster and others don’t. Assuming the event is survivable (and sometimes it’s not), it seems to have a lot to do with attitude.

You might remember the horrific 1994 sinking of a cruise ferry on the Baltic Sea. “Six hours into the journey,” notes this article, “pushing through a force nine gale, the bow door broke open and the ferry started taking on water. Within an hour it had sunk, taking with it 852 of its passengers and crew.”

It is simple.

Pause just enough to think. It might turn out that running away is the right thing to do but some times seeing everyone else panic, you realize there is a safer option than what everyone else is doing.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Stop, take a breath, assess your situation, formulate a plan and at the right moment take action...

Often it’s better to be a contrarian.

The Top of the List - Pray in Jesus Name

I found myself in a tornado. . .totally unexpected . . . while driving home one afternoon from a school district. All of a sudden blinding rain, windshield wipers that flipped out, an eerie yellow presence, I couldn’t see a thing and then the car started bucking back and forth sideways. I called out, “Help me Jesus, Help me Jesus, Help me Jesus.” You may think this totally strange but I kept driving not seeing anything but yellow and even cried out to myself nervously “what are you doing!”. . . . it was a miracle. Once out of the situation I immediately pulled over into a driveway and called my folks about what had happened. I drove the next 30 miles in a daze. I had to travel the same road the next week where “my event” had taken place . . . .the sight affirmed my experience. . . grain bins flattened, trees downed along a single stretch that crossed the road right where I had been. I am forever grateful that the Hand of God protected me.

I always took that to mean, have a condom in your wallet.

Never know when you will get lucky.

Most people say that. That's why I'll do the same as everybody.

:-)

If most people said it they wouldn’t be one. Of’course actions are louder than words. If most people were actually’one, they wouldn’t get caught in the same scams and jams everyone else does.

your post, and thus my reply, always reminds me of a great scene in Life of Brian, where Brian is telling the crowd that they are all individuals, they should all do their own thing, while the crowd agrees in unison. One lone smart guy however yells out he wants to be the same.
