Jesus is [#1] - without a doubt - MALE (you may not have known that, but this is the case). And Jesus is [#2] the God-Man, fully God and fully man. And Jesus is [#3] our Creator God, having made everything that was made and created, plus He sustains it all, at the same time. Then God says [#4] there is no other God other than Him. And then, God exists [#5] outside of his creation, and he [#6] had no beginning and has no end. And then lastly, God #7] does not explain everything, but only what he has determined is sufficient, according to his own determination (see the message God gave to Job at the end).
AND ... all this is not subject to logic or reasoning or man’s ability to “figure it out” ... but is ONLY the result of God choosing to REVEAL IT to mankind, in His Word.
“... has revealed a shocking revelation that will change everything you once believed.” Rubish
I would have to “get worked up” to “simmer down”. I haven’t gotten worked up ... :-) ...
In terms of what we know ... we ONLY KNOW exactly what God has chosen to REVEAL to us in his Word. If he hasn’t revealed something about himself or his creation or his plan ... then we don’t know it at all.
What he HAS REVEALED in his Word, we know exactly what that is.
And in regards to this thread, we know EXACTLY ... that our CREATOR GOD is male, from his revealed word.
“Good point, I don’t know the answer to this seeming contradiction.”
Me either, except it might be safe to say that when the Scriptures present a broad truth there may be allowances for certain exceptions. I.E. “There is none righteous, no, not one:” and “They [Elisabeth and Zechariah] were both righteous before God, walking in the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.”
But I know this “priest” report is utter B.S. because it directly contradicts Scripture.
You’re a christian. I’m not. Your opinion means absolutely NOTHING to me. I find it ludicrous. Got it yet?
You are dealing with translations from Aramaic, Hebrew, and Greek. Translating into English is going to not be a straight up one to one proposition, you have to deal with underlying grammar as well as differing meanings. An example would be the word “love” which is used in place of no less than than 18 different words.
Not surprisingly, he hasn’t read or remembered Ezekiel.
Jesus referred to Him as “the Father”.
Not my words.
What I “get” ... is ... you do not accept God’s Word as true. And, as I said, that is what one can say. What one can’t say, is that God’s Word does not say that our Creator God is male.
I think I made that clear before, and I already understood that your position is that God’s Word is not true.
And, if I didn’t make one thing clear, I’ll try again. My opinion really doesn’t count for anything, when it comes down to God’s revealed word. All that counts in that regard is ONLY what it says, itself.
The original language is what counts ...and the translation that you and I have ... has been examined, studied, analyzed and explained “six ways to Sunday” for hundreds of years.
And in all that, we know without a doubt that Jesus is the God-Man, is male and is our Creator God ... and that is what this thread is about.
Goes a long way towards explaining Purgatory, doesn't it?
Guess you don’t believe in Genesis and you think God is just a man
I’m the one who said most of us sleep until we are raised at the last trumpet, I don’t have any problem with feminine and masculine forms of words being used to describe God’s attributes though, He is the creator of us all.
Regarding this priest, I don’t know what he saw, but I do think most of us won’t be seeing God until the last trumpet. I do think we can wander around a little though, there are scores of stories of people who floated up and watched themselves on the operating table, for example. I don’t think it pays to get too dogmatic about things that don’t concern salvation and Romans 14 seems like a pretty good admonition.
If he's that impressed with the receptionist, wait until he meets the rest of the staff.
:)
I can’t believe that people who believe in God would think he would actually limit himself in such a way in actual form, he can appear anyway he likes.
He’s the God-Man, he’s male and he’s the creator and sustainer of all things made/created.
As far as believing or not believing Genesis ... I take it to be the same as all Scripture ...
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The Bible is the inerrant and infallible Word of God. Further explanation ... below ...
Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy with Exposition
http://www.bible-researcher.com/chicago1.html
I believe that the Bible is God’s word communicated to man in a way he can comprehend. Man even now can’t fathom the mystery of God.
The Bible is a blessed communication that we can understand.
If you think the Bible has removed all mystery, you are lost.
What God has not revealed ... we don’t know about those matters (and he hasn’t revealed everything).
What God has revealed ... we know exactly what he has told us.
That’s why we can say what he has told us, that he’s the God-Man, that he’s our Creator God and that he’s male.
I’m not venturing into what has not been revealed by God to us, but only what he has revealed to us.
