I don't know of anyone who brings a wallet to the beach and from what I know many Hawaiian boys are at the beach every day. It's unusual for most American men not to have a wallet with them all the time but I doubt it's all that unusual in Hawaii especially at the beach.
What I'm saying doesn't disprove your premise but I'm just saying that things are different in Hawaii.

You could be right. I have never lived in Hawaii. So, it would be nice if people from Hawaii could respond to your message.
That is, they could tell us if it would have been rare for Hawaiian young men like 18 year old Obama to walk around WITHOUT their wallet on the day Obama supposedly signed his Selective Service form in Hawaii in July 1980.
Or, on the other hand, they could will tell us that it was common practice for 18 year old Hawaiian young men like Obama---even though Obama had spent the past year at Occidental college in California---to walk around Hawaii without their wallets way back in July 1980.
