The first thing that needs to happen, I think, is Texas issuing its own coin, which we’re allowed to do. No paper, just coin.
If it just happened to be gold coin, held at armorys, that Texas-charter-only banks could use as the 1/10 or even better 1/20 fractional reserve, then Texas banks could literally issue ancillary ‘currency’ with their bank checks.
If Texas could escape the Fed Reserve, with our own dollar system, everything else would fall into place, after we commandeered all our military assets and gave the fed IOUs for them. We would need the alliance of all our contiguous sister-states, and acquisition of serious air command.
Kinda the exact opposite of what Sam Houston wanted, but this ain’t 1846, is it?
