Obola is right, but of course, not in the way he thinks. Our first war was with mooselims and it continues to this day. They have been a fabric of our nation’s history - in a completely negative way.

I wouldn’t say it was our first. We did have the War for Independence, Indian War in the Northwest Territory and the Naval War with France beforehand. It is interesting that of the two Barbary Wars we fought, the more unsuccessful of the two gets the most ink. The War with Algiers in 1815 was way more decisive than Jefferson’s conflict. The First Barbary War was a draw in that Jefferson agreed in the end to pay the ransom for the Bey of Tripoli’s ( he was Albanian by the way) hostages. However in 1815, the US Navy defeated Algiers decisively, with Tunis asking for terms soon after.

Not to mention that the vicious persecution of Christians in the Middle East (that was what provoked Pope Urban II to launch the Crusades) made people steeped in the teachings of Aristotle to leave the Middle East and Asia Minor and come to Europe and spread the reason and logic of Aristotle back to Europe. That is another Muslim contribution to western civilization.
