Conservative group hits Jeb for giving award to Hillary

A conservative group is launching a campaign calling former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.) “unelectable” because he gave presumed Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton an award in 2013.

In the minds of ForAmerica, a conservative group founded by Brent Bozell, the president of the Media Research Center, that one appearance is enough to disqualify him from a 2016 bid entirely.

“Anytime Jeb calls Hillary 'Obama 2.0,' any criticism he makes of her awful record as Secretary of State, any time he shows how much of an extremist she is on the issues, will be completely dismissed when she reminds everyone that he gave her an award for public service,” Bozell said in a statement.

“Jeb has absolutely no credibility to criticize her because he has already anointed her as a great public servant; and he inexplicably did so almost a year to the day of the Benghazi massacre," he continued. "He will lose, and the public will have to suffer at least another four years of Obama’s policies – and anything worse she has in store for America.”

As chairman of the National Constitution Center, Bush gave Clinton a lifetime achievement award for public service and her work on women’s rights.

A video released by ForAmerica shows footage of Bush thanking Clinton and her husband, President Bill Clinton.

"We are united by love of country and public service,” Bush says. The video then shows text calling Hillary Clinton “responsible for the security of the American embassy in Benghazi” and noting that the 2012 attack on the embassy that left four Americans dead “occurred on her watch.”

The event occurred one night before the first anniversary of the Benghazi attacks.

I’m afraid the Republican primary voters are stuck on Jebbie the way the general election majority is with HRC.

The fix is in. Yesterday during prime time news every outlet had a Jeb Bush story about how wrong W was on Iraq.

Sorry but Jeb is unelectable in the general election. The Bush name is forever associated with the futile, costly invasion and occupation of Iraq and the failure to hold a culpable Saudi Arabia liable for 9/11. The average American voted will associate Jeb with his brother and father. They will vote for the flawed Hillary.

Jebby Boy and his lackluster stale bread demeanor will eventually be swept aside by the urgency of the moment, and more vigorous and serious Conservative candidates. My bet is Scott Walker.

BREITBART 9/9/13 : Jeb Bush awards Hillary Defender of Liberty Medal on eve of Benghazi anniversary.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) will honor former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with this year’s Liberty Medal from the National Constitution Center.

The award will be presented to Clinton on September 10th, the eve of the first anniversary of the terrorist attack on the United States mission in Benghazi that killed four Americans.

The Christian Science Monitor reports that Bush, a potential GOP contender in the 2016 presidential race, is chairman of the board of trustees of the National Constitution Center located in Philadelphia.

“Former Secretary Clinton has dedicated her life to serving and engaging people across the world in democracy,” Bush said in a statement. “These efforts as a citizen, an activist, and a leader have earned Secretary Clinton this year’s Defender of Liberty Medal.”

==============================================

Bush’s decision to honor Clinton, who is considered by some to be a likely Democrat candidate for president in 2016, was condemned by the Independence Hall Tea Party Association of Philadelphia. According to the Christian Science Monitor, the organization released its own statement Monday, referring to the event as “extremely distressing,” and offering, instead, an opportunity for another Liberty Medal recipient.

According to the statement: As all of you undoubtedly know, much of the blame for the Obama Administration’s failure to contain the Benghazi attack and the scandalous handling of its aftermath, can be traced directly to Ms. Clinton.

Indeed, a Congressional investigation regarding Ms. Clinton’s role in the cover-up of the Administration’s failure is still ongoing.

=====================================================

A newly formed organization, the Independence Hall Foundation, will hold a “What Difference Does It Make” press conference on Independence Mall, September 10, 4 PM, to denounce the selection of Ms. Clinton as the 2013 Liberty Medal recipient and to offer an alternative award (details below). During the conference, the Foundation will name its choice of recipient(s) for the 2013 Defender of Liberty Medal. Dom Giordano will headline the presser and we certainly hope you will consider joining us.

Jeb is unelectable in the general election

If it's hillary vs Jeb, the power group that runs the US, and indeed the global economy, already won. Rand Paul should be trying to find a way to a viable third-party run if that happens. He's the one who'd draw in dissatisfieds across the spectrum.

I'd forgotten that award to hillary. It's an insult to conservative women to give her any positive recognition.

Jeb can't win. He let Terri Schiavo die. His cheerleaders here a few weeks ago said "he couldn't do anything". To that my response is...if Jeb couldn't stop one man and his insurance company from killing Terri, how's he going to stop ISIS?

Somehow Jeb was unconvincing when yesterday he uttered “I’m my own man” in the voice of petulant teenager, even as the news that of his twenty advisers nineteen had worked with dad or Dubya.

That’s the message Jebbie

Bush Inc. and Clinton Inc.
Hornswaggling America for decades.

A sound proposition. Very logical and pragmatic too.

However, just won't opine on "who's on top".

This is not a tenable article, because Jeb Bush is unacceptable for a whole litany of reasons, not just a single mistake. He is a serial bank robber, not a jaywalker; and by emphasizing his jaywalking as a cardinal sin, you neglect all his other offenses.

Conservatives must be crystal clear that if Jeb Bush is nominated, conservatives must be monolithic in rejecting him. Though the Republican establishment will support Hillary before it will support a Republican conservative, this doesn’t matter.

A Bush presidency would negate the power of every conservative congressman and senator. A Hillary presidency might increase their strength in the Republican caucus, as the “leaders of the opposition” against her.

But what about the long term health of our nation?

Hillary would be in contention with congress, and might even follow the advice of “triangulating” with them, as did Bill Clinton. While Bill Clinton fought the Republicans, he lost and conservatives were able to advance agenda items like welfare reform, a stronger military, etc.

But a Bush presidency only promises the destruction of America. Open borders and far more illegal aliens, Obamacare continued and enlarged, even worse unemployment, even greater government spending, an even more intrusive and voyeuristic police-intelligence state, and horrible internationalist treaties giving away vast amounts of American sovereignty to vile foreign nations and internationalist organizations.

W. Bush wanted all of North America and even South America turned into some grotesque parody of the European Union, as an internationalist economic bloc. While lying about it, he was all in favor of the Plan Puebla Panama, the trans-America corridor from Texas to Canada, the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), the replacement of the US dollar with the “Amero” (like the Euro), etc., ad nauseum in extremo.

Otherwise, Jeb Bush will spend a LOT of time turning the War On Terror into a perpetual war, with US military on every corner of the planet, and yes, they will slaughter a lot of Islamists. And they will keep slaughtering Islamists. And the total number of Islamists will never decline, like in Afghanistan, where at the start of that war there were about 30,000 of them, and despite killing perhaps 100,000 or more, each and every year there were still an estimated 30,000 of them. This is because the practical limit of management for the Taliban and al Qaeda, with endless and perpetual replacements.

In the final analysis, to Hell with Jeb Bush. America might still be someday able to rise from its ruin with Hillary, but the Bush family will insure that the coffin is nailed shut, and buried under six feet of concrete.

You are assuming candidate JEB would fight that hard. He is a place holder.

I agree Jebbie will not take the general election. Why take Democrat lite when you can have the real thing?

I also see Jeb as a one debate pony. Look for Cruz, Perry, Paul and Walker to eviscerate him in the first debate.
