Tell it to the Democrats that the bill must be passed. The House has passed it. The majority of the Senate will vote for it, even if it chokes some like McCaingraham (who have now been surgically attached). The obstructionists keeping Homeland Security are the Democrats and the Democrats alone... and they are trying to force a dead issue now that the judiciary has ruled that Obama's spoken request is not law.

Well, McCain signaled his surrender a few days ago. Now Rubio; Graham is likely to follow soon.
Assuming(unlikely) that McConnell should want to use the traditional 51 votes for a spending bill, rather than the 60 votes that he wimped out to as soon as he got the gavel... All they need is one more DIABLO to defect...Or maybe one already has.... Who will it be?

We don’t need a “Homeland Security Dept”. It’s just another layer of bureaucracy that obstructs homeland security. Get rid of it along with a bunch of other three letter fedgov bureaucracies. Dubya let the neo-cons & progs talk him into it, he was initially opposed to a DHS. We have an FBI, a CIA and a DOD - that’s plenty. Let them do their jobs and report to POTUS without the filter.
