From what I understand, Nye is a mechanical engineer. Engineering is a profession, and one of the biggest no-nos of engineering is to claim expertise outside of what one has carefully studied and proven capable of doing. In other words, a mechanical engineer shouldn’t claim expertise on the environment, because that is not something mechanical engineers are trained or qualified on. Correct me if I’m wrong fellow engineers.
