Why is Labor changing its name and why is Labor suddenly gaining seats, compared to its most recent historical performances?
They’re not really, the Zionist Camp on the ticket is two parties running a combined list, Labor (Herzog, 15 seats currently) and Hatnuah (Livni, 6 seats currently). At 25 the combination is up 4 seats, not ten.
Remember 61 seats is needed for a coalition. More parties on the right than left.
Labor, running under the moniker the "Zionist Camp" just barely inches by Likud with 25 seats.
Why is Labor changing its name
To get more votes by being dishonest about what they stand for?

Because they misleadingly changed their name?
The Labor party is like the Left everywhere. They care more about power than the survival of the country. It is the same in the United States except America is much bigger and will take longer to destroy (I think).
