Students at the University of Aberystwyth in the U.K. are seeking the removal of Gideon Bibles from their dorm rooms as the presence of the scriptures allegedly makes them feel "uncomfortable." ...
"The inclusion of Bibles in university bedrooms is inappropriate in a multicultural university such as Aberystwyth," student John Morgan stated during a student council meeting last month. "It could be offensive for some, and the university should provide a safe space for students to explore and develop their beliefs in a neutral environment."
He said, however, that he believed Bibles should still be available for students who want one, and suggested that future applications allow students to indicate whether or not they would like a Bible in their room.

It seems there will be no Bibles, Tao Te Chings, Qurans or other religious books stacked on top of each other awaiting the students.
Gideon's supplies the books, but the University stores them --- and so on.
No Tao Te Chings, no Vedas, no Bible, no Qurans and so on will await any students in any rooms.
What say you?
Looks like this is a public university. I’m surprised this tradition has lasted as long as it has.
>>I wouldn’t like a Quran awaiting me in the room I was to move into, so I can see where they are coming from. Let the market decide: If someone doesn’t like the policy, then go somewhere else. There will be no religious books of any kind awaiting any students in any room.<<
Or, call Campus Housing and say “can you please remove this?”
Or just get all offended and have a tantrum (I man the students in the school)...
They will also not be very comfortable come judgment day.
koran = emergency toilet paper.
I was thinking the same thing
Well. . .isn't that Christian of him. . .
BTW, my son went there for his master's degree. Great education. Like all universities, especially UK universities, they do have their share of hate-filled, self-loathing lefty loones.
Wales is in the UK.
Yes, truth makes many people uncomfortable these days.
Oh for the love of Pete!!! Don’t these people ever get tired of trying to diss- the “Almighty”? Put their names and addresses up so people paying attention can know who is trying to destroy religious freedom in their cities and on campuses plus what organizations fund these activists, we need their names also.
The students would be OK with porn and condoms left in their rooms.
Why say “please remove this”?
Why not have it set where there are no religious books of any kind in any room be it a Quran or a Bible, and thus that removes at least one step in this process.
Or do you want Qurans in rooms that people have to call Campus Housing to have removed?
the presence of the scriptures allegedly makes them feel “uncomfortable.”
Well, it can do that:
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrew 4:12
What happens when people are uncomfortable with burqas and salat?
In my opinion there shouldn’t be any Qurans that people should have to call Housing to have removed. I sure wouldn’t want to have to call them to have a Quran removed from my room.
The policy should be that no religion will be given preference over another. I don’t like Dominion Theology at all.
“Or, call Campus Housing and say can you please remove this?”
I’m actually surprised the college kids did not assume it was a free supply of rolling papers.
Some who believe in Yahweh but not Jesus being the Son of God say we will face their God’s judgment one day. Some say we will face Allah’s judgment one day.
many, but not all, have their own version of hell fire and brimstone they shake in other people’s faces. I guess to each his own...
I am so sick of these idealistic Moonbats.
I’d love to give them all a slap across the head while they are out protesting global warming or whatever tomorrow....
Yes, the Bibles are undoubtedly making students who let others tell them what to think feel uncomfortable against their wills. (semi-sarc)
Take responsibility for what goes on in your own heads people.
