Let’s see, 1000 ISIS a**holes split into two elements attacking 300 or so US Marines in a well fortified position. That’s about 3 islamonazis per Marine, give or take. Toss in some air cover and let the cannon cockers gt some practice.

I'm refraining from making comments on this one, other then to say.
It is possible this is a blessing in disguised, somewhat, if the Iraqi forces
are soon sent out to kill off all the ISIS goons in the town and surrounding area.
Air Support is already at the air base. Has been for a long time.
Call it a test if one will, in a rough indication as how the few Iraqi
security forces under Marine/Spec OPS guidance might shortly demonstrate a new direction the Iraqi might take over this ISIS issue.
Beyond that. I hesitate to get into long discussions as to what has,
or has not been done to date regarding ISIS in Iraq proper.

Yes Norm. It would be great if puff is locally available.
I have not followed what has been going on recently from a military standpoint.
I assume, and I know we should not do that crap, that there are sufficient mixes of US aircraft at the air base.
After all it is one of the largest that has been maintained in in recent years.
I just have a feeling unlike what many of the doomsday artists
are projecting, even at sites like American Thinker, that ISIS goons are going to
have a big surprise in store for them soon in that particular quadrant.
Things being broadcasted are rather mum at this point. Perhaps whoever is in
charge of the US military at the base have given the word for the press to STFU on
what may become a short term engagement to get rid of the Islamic goons from the town and that part of al Anbar soon.
Time of course will show if I'm full of it or not. :)
