Report: Oregon Governor to Resign Today

Oregon’s Democratic Gov. John Kitzhaber will resign this afternoon, multiple sources told Portland’s KOIN. News of the governor’s resignation comes after the governor was accused of using his influence to arrange contracts for his fiance’s green energy company and ordering the deletion of thousands of emails relevant to the scandal.

Democrats knew of this scandal, It was brewing BEFORE the election. The media choose to ignore it.

So does that mean an early election of Gov for Oregon?

I suspect not, probably Lt. Gov takes over, but it should. When a US Rep, Senator, or most any other elected official resigns that signals an early special election.

Yeah - I agree, but it’s never been a pet peeve of mine...but the media not being able to figure out, for example, what party Eliot Spitzer was when his scandal broke out, is a peeve of mine. I wonder if the Jurassics will be able to discern which party the Oregon governor is.
