Massachusetts Senate President Stanley Rosenberg is engaged.
A spokesman for the Amherst Democrat confirmed Thursday that Rosenberg is planning to marry his domestic partner, Bryon Hefner. The two have been together since 2009.
The relationship between the 65-year-old Rosenberg and the 27-year-old Hefner briefly became news last year after Hefner allegedly mocked outgoing Senate President Therese Murray on Twitter and boasted about his influence in the Legislature.
That prompted Rosenberg to reassure his Democratic colleagues that he planned to enforce a "firewall" between his personal and professional lives.
Rosenberg was elected by his fellow senators to replace Murray, who stepped down after leading the chamber since 2007. Rosenberg is the first openly gay lawmaker to lead the Senate. He's also the longest-serving member of the upper chamber.

Just when you thought it couldn’t be any more embarrassing to be from Massachusetts:
Ever since mittens mass has been a hot bed of activity and honor for queers.
Wait. What about Barney and his boy toy, the one that was growing pot in their digs and a brothel?
The toilet.
Our country is swirling down it.

I’d be embarrassed to admit it.
In other news, Joe Biden is considering moving to Massachusetts.
Between this and the weather,I wonder what the hell I’m doing here, too.
Here in CA it seems to be the Assembly Speaker...well...that goes to this contingent. The one now. And the one before her.
People do not have any sense of shame these days. No amount of degeneracy embarrasses them.
Is that where his old butt buddy is?
Ditto here.
Isn’t that precious.
Best move I ever made : )
I still like it here.
I do a lot of bitching but I like living in MA.

Homosexuality has existed for centuries, but was never acceptable and remained a very small percentage of the population for the reason of shame and religious taboo.
The likelihood of passing the curse to the progeny of homosexuals was nil - but now the government has approved adoptions and IVF with surrogate female wombs - they will continue to procreate thanks to a meddling medical minority.
I fear the end of humanity as we knew it is already upon us.
Not me. I ended up moving to Berkeley for three years.
