"If you're gonna be a rapper, basketball player or pimp you don't need no education." The big elephant in the room is the illegal drug industry. The drug culture is being handed down to the children by the parents. Entire families are involved in it. Kids make more money in a week than a kid can make in a month. And, it is all untaxed money. To them, education is for chumps. School is a place to grow you market.
