Why do most people today, scientists included, believe that small doses of radiation are harmful to human health when no proof for this theory exists, and when mountains of evidence show the opposite that small amounts of radiation actually promote health? After years of sleuthing into historical records, a scientist at the University of Massachusetts has found a smoking gun, involving a scientific scam in 1946 at the very highest echelons the Nobel Prize ceremonies in Stockholm.

When I ran a pro photo lab, one of our products was Cibachrome, prints made directly from transparencies. Dust marks on the transparencies showed up as black marks on the prints. The people doing the dust spot correction used an acid to bleach out the black mark to white, then used color dyes as necessary to fill the white dots in.
It was hard to break the habit of twirling the brush tips on the tongue, but sooner or later the acid made its point.
At least with radium watches, the only thing that is needed is to renew the phosphor coating (ZnS): the radium itself will outlive you by far.
