BRIAN WILLIAMS OUT FOR 6 MONTHS
Drudge Report ^ | 2-10-2015 | Deborah Turness

Subject: Brian Williams

To: "@NBC Uni NBC News All"

All,

We have decided today to suspend Brian Williams as Managing Editor and Anchor of NBC Nightly News for six months. The suspension will be without pay and is effective immediately. We let Brian know of our decision earlier today. Lester Holt will continue to substitute Anchor the NBC Nightly News.

Our review, which is being led by Richard Esposito working closely with NBCUniversal General Counsel Kim Harris, is ongoing, but I think it is important to take you through our thought process in coming to this decision.

While on Nightly News on Friday, January 30, 2015, Brian misrepresented events which occurred while he was covering the Iraq War in 2003. It then became clear that on other occasions Brian had done the same while telling that story in other venues. This was wrong and completely inappropriate for someone in Brian’s position.

In addition, we have concerns about comments that occurred outside NBC News while Brian was talking about his experiences in the field.

As Managing Editor and Anchor of Nightly News, Brian has a responsibility to be truthful and to uphold the high standards of the news division at all times.

Steve Burke, Pat Fili and I came to this decision together. We felt it would have been wrong to disregard the good work Brian has done and the special relationship he has forged with our viewers over 22 years. Millions of Americans have turned to him every day, and he has been an important and well-respected part of our organization.

As I’m sure you understand, this was a very hard decision. Certainly there will be those who disagree. But we believe this suspension is the appropriate and proportionate action.

This has been a difficult time. But NBC News is bigger than this moment. You work so hard and dedicate yourselves each and every day to the important work of bringing trusted, credible news to our audience. Because of you, your loyalty, your dedication, NBC News is an organization we can – and should - all be proud of. We will get through this together.

Steve Burke asked me to share the following message.

“This has been a painful period for all concerned and we appreciate your patience while we gathered the available facts. By his actions, Brian has jeopardized the trust millions of Americans place in NBC News. His actions are inexcusable and this suspension is severe and appropriate. Brian’s life’s work is delivering the news. I know Brian loves his country, NBC News and his colleagues. He deserves a second chance and we are rooting for him. Brian has shared his deep remorse with me and he is committed to winning back everyone’s trust.”

Deborah

Does this mean NBC and the other networks will start covering the IRS scandals etc?

I see the non coverage of IRS Benghazi etc as being the biggest lies

He’s done this before and returned.
In 1835-36 he took six months leave from a newspaper and joined-up with some adventurers from Tennessee.
They went to Texas and everyone but Brian died at the Alamo.
The circumstances were a little murky, but as usual it is a very exciting and extraordinary story.

I pray that they all come to terms with who they are - and how low they have fallen.

For only then can we begin to rebuild, and we must pray that we can, for our children and grandchildren, so that they do not have to live lives of deception, suspicion, control, and subjugation.

My constant worry is that we have now slipped too far over the edge, and that it might be too late.

So, as we pray for this poor lost “sell-out” (Brian Williams), we must pray for his ilk in the corridors of power, and for our country, which is slip-sliding down the slope into whatever “heck” one wants to call it.

About half of our voting population doesn’t watch the news, doesn’t care about honesty in our government, as long as they get their “freebies”, and they willingly vote for any dolt who promises them more and better than the other guy, who might be trying to save them from the total disaster that ensues when the music stops, the dollar defaults, and there is no more “free stuff”.

It is no longer the country we oldsters grew up in, and the idiotic demands mount up day by day, as do the government clamp-downs on health care, education, and even the internet.

Our constitution is ignored, and nothing is done to stop the marxist creep by either the Congress or the Court. We have been silently taken over by the worst of the “boomers”, who endlessly call for us to disrespect the best of the “boomers”.

I am not sure why we should ask our young men to defend the indefensible nonsense coming from the remains of our government. Both of my sons served, but I would advise my grandsons not to enlist, given the elimination of our best officers, and the present mess of our foreign policy, and the crappy rules of engagement forced on those now serving.

Hurts me to say that, Friends. I once believed, but have been betrayed.

Brian Williams is just a canary, or is he a “squirrel”, served up as a distraction?

Anyway, will pray for his redemption, as I do for our nation - that we all wake up in time to climb back up the cliff of destruction.

NBC didn’t have the balls to fire him now. It makes NBC look worse if they decide to fire Williams later.

I like Lester Holt so much better, anyway. He has been underutilized for a long time. I hope he gets to stay permanently. If Brian comes back, he should get the Shep Smith treatment—no more top dog for you, Brian, and no soup, either!

If they dare to bring this clown back, I’ll never watch NBC news again.

Of course, I haven’t watched those disgusting douchebags for 25+ years and I never plan to watch them again, so they probably won’t miss me.

Had Sarah Palin, Rush or Mark Levin come out with such a series of bald-face lies, liberals would still be howling so loud and long that we’d never hear anything else again.

“Then he will announce that he is pursuing other endeavors.”

Yep, the ol’ “resigning to spend more time with my family” line, where said excuse is just a total hoot because of course you’re going to be spending more time with your family when you don’t have a job.

Maybe that’s the same “re-facing” they are trying by hiding hitlery.

They really do think that Gruber guy was right.

I got a $5 bill that says Williams gets a gig on NPR before the year is out.

Everyone involved knew he was lying.

I believe that would qualify him to run for president or vice president as a democrat.

He and Hillary should team up and run as America's Ram-Babe and Ram-Boy.

She corkscrewed into the airport under sniper fire in Bosnia and he got shot down by an RPG in Afghanistan.

Brian Williams lies about one event and is condemned. The president lies almost daily and handily wins reelection and continued adulation.

Something wrong here.
