Snow sets historic records in Boston Boston breaks record for snow in 30 days

The "snowmaggedon" of the past two weeks will almost certainly move Boston into the top 10 snowiest winters of all time Monday.

"It's like the Energizer Bunny. It just keeps going," said Storm Team 5 meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon.

The seemingly never-ending snowfall will give Boston over 73 inches for the winter, passing the 72.9 inches that fell during the winter of 1903-1904.

As of 7 a.m., 66.3 inches had fallen this winter season at Logan Airport, where snow is officially measured.

"For the past 14 days it seems like we have had a constant snow removal operation in Boston," said Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.

Boston also set a record with the most snow in 30 days with 60.8 inches.

The prior record was the 58.8 inches that fell before, during and after the Blizzard of 1978. However, this time that record was set in 17 days, not 30.

I forget to mention the sport that occurs this time of year in Boston.

This gal, by digging her car out, is creating an available parking space in front of her apartment. They fight over them, because when she comes home, somebody else will be in her spot and she will have no place to park! So people put saw horses and orange cones in their spot to save it for themselves.

Interesting game for city dwellers up north, eh?

What’s to keep people from moving the orange cones or sawhorses ?

People can move the cones or sawhorses (folding chairs are used as well) but they risk bodily harm.

They can be moved-—easy——if you don’t mind having all of your tires slashed,or worse.

Here in Chi we call that “dibs”, it’s technically illegal but not enforced in most areas.

Funny how all those liberals want to guard and protect their own parking spaces. I thought they were proponents of sharing and redistribution. lol

another round for Massachoosie on Saturday
16 more inches.

all is normal in CT, but cities like Hartford, which is genuinely bankrupt, are complaining about their snow removal budget being spent. Traffic jams at rush hour in Hartford are enormous cuz of narrow streets.

Meanwhile, the city of Hartford will build and own a $56 million, 6000 seat minorleague beisbol stadium. Bankruptcy the new-fashioned way.

We are the United States of Entertainment, after all. (Acknowledgements to Bernie Goldberg for that brilliant characterization of what we have become.)
