President Barack Obama’s controversial comments equating the recent atrocities by the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists with those of medieval Christians sparked an uproar among the nation’s Christians. But according to ABC News, historians are also taking aim at Obama’s statement: “During the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.”

The did colonize it for a hundred years, and then they sacked Constantinople and “liberated” it from the Christian Romans.

Obama knows nothing whatsoever about the crusades, his advisors put that bug in his ear and then had to explain what it was about. He’s personally as dumb as the proverbial box of rocks

I think Obama is counting on that the American people don't know the purpose of the Crusades. Pope Urban II called for Crusades because of the horrific treatment of Christians by Muslims in the East. How much history do American people know anyway? How many people resemble the people O'Reilly's Jesse Waters interviews in "Water's World"?

Since this is such a common refrain from anti-Christian leftist/atheists,

it’s pretty simple. He just repeats the anti-Christian propaganda he’s heard all his life without questioning its veracity.

I find it amusing when pointing out these failings to my lib-in-laws.

INVARIABLY, they first deny that he’d do such a thing.
Then, when it becomes apparent the he DID indeed do such a thing, they switch over to defending it.

So, if it was so bad that he wouldn’t have done it,
why defend it when it becomes apparent that he did?

As long as you don’t get mad, this INVARIABLE pattern is often amusing.

Hey Gang- For those of you who think Obama writes any of what he says, please wake up. He is given things to say, he does not come up with any of it. He is a shallowly educated ideologue with no depth, breadth or nuance.

LOL! We have concluded that there are those that will NOT be convinced regardless of what you present to them. Facts don’t matter and that’s a fact. :>}

“He just repeats the anti-Christian propaganda he’s heard all his life without questioning its veracity.”

He probably even believes it. He can’t have a three digit IQ and say the things he does. He is programmed by his handlers, from Bill Ayers to George Soros.

The evil empire Reagan despised has installed itself across western Europe and North America.

Most people, and not just liberals, will not deign to question statements or assertions that support their worldview.

People can and do, yes.
But it’s not our natural tendency.

Example from my life - conversion from “theistic evolutionist” to “young earth creationist”.
It took a lot of study of the evidence and assumptions in order to overcome a lifetime of science education.

Also too, as we “age”, the old saying comes more to the front and center, “If you are 20 years old and is a conservative, you have no heart. When you are 40 years old and is a liberal you have no brain.”

The narcissist in chief better start proofreading the speeches Valerie Jarret writes for him before making an ass of himself.

I was wondering about that. If he was reading that from TOTUS, Obummer has a serious problem with staff. Or, those statements were POSOTUS's listening in Jeremiah's pew for twenty years.

**Give back the land to the Christians? But the land belonged to the Jews.***

After the Jews were carried away captive to Babylon the land rarely had Jewish rulers.
Persian, Greek, Egyptian (Ptolemy), Roman Pagans all ruled over the Jews when they returned.
After the Jews revolted in 70AD, they were expelled from Jerusalem (Aelia Capitolina), but were allowed to live in the surrounding areas.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aelia_Capitolina

When ROME became Christian, so did Aelia and remained so till the the moslem invasion.

And apparently lacks the ability to appoint competent people to important positions including speech writers, if he did we wouldn’t so easily recognize that “he is a shallowly educated ideologue with no depth, breadth or nuance.”
