Via Ace and Twitter user Niedermeyer’s Dead Horse, yet another tale of Brian Williams’ heroism on that fateful day in Iraq in 2003 has emerged, this time from 2007. Don’t forget that the absolutely false version of his helicopter ride being hit by an RPG had been floating around since 2004, this time the story has even more compelling detail. Williams tells Fairfield University reporter Emily Fitzmaurice in November 2007 about all of the close calls he’s had as a reporter, including the 2003 incident in Iraq in which he looked down the tube of the RPG launcher. And the true story was revealed by some honest fire crew who were hired to assist at the fake crash site.

Maybe the changing details is the only problem.. otherwise Williams was merely practicing narrative journalism -- like "journalists" reporting that Tea Party demonstrators shouted "n*****s" at members of the House of Representatives. It gives the story more oomph and in the latter case the "correct" message.

I just recalled the possible role that the Society of Professional "Journalists" has in all this. Narrative journalism.
The Society of Professional "Journalists" initiated the "don't you dare mention Muslims and terrorism together" standard -- and that started in October of 2001. If the two must be used together then the "journalist" must cite domestic terrorist groups like the anti-abortion people.
I cannot prove that the SP"J" advocates lying but covering up for Islamists is pretty damn close to proof IMO.

Were you the guy on the front lines who I wiped the sweat from his brow? I was dodging gunfire and didn’t get a good look at his face. Buy, Lincoln was definitely there. I got deveral medals for my bravery but some dickhead named John Kerry asked to borrow them. Never got them back.

This is what happens when left wing narrative readers or newsmen are paid for years to lie at their job.
At some point they feel invincible after getting away with lying for so long it just becomes second nature to them.

This one was a great find. Man he’s really spinning the stories in this one.
He’s toast. Too much of this stuff is surfacing. I give him until Sunday night before Lester Holt is announced as anchor of the NBC nightly news and Williams fades off for a few years hoping people forget this.
