The whole “didn’t follow protocol” thing is a simple lie. The New York Times got that talking point from the Obama people, ran it, based an ENTIRE story on how outraged the WH was BECAUSE they didn’t let the WH know in advance. Then it turned out the central fact in their story was wrong: the Israeli’s HAD notified the WH in advance. It’s just that the WH hadn’t responded — something that was entirely in their control. Having run the “violated protocol” story as a world-shaking transgression by the Jews, the Times ran the “correction” in the correction column, giving it about two lines. So what’s really animating Pat? Somehow I don’t think he’s really bothered by the “fact” that the hardworking people at the WH were blindsided by the rude israelis who didn’t follow protocol.
