“Would not be a problem if our borders were closed.”

The solution is to vaccinate your children and work for high rates of Herd Immunity.

With low rates of Herd Immunity, the probability of even those who are vacciinated contracting measles increases.

As far as vaccination rates for measles is concerned, vaccination rates in Mexico are almost the same as they are in th US.

We can only blame ourselves for the measles outbreak.

I was wondering the exact same thing.

Take care of your own and don’t worry about it. If most people are vaccinated, what will spread? My kids were vaccinate, we had no problems.

I don’t care if others don’t want to for whatever reason.

There are so many vaccines now. One has to be informed and careful. I would NOT, despite the casual inquiry at the well check of my girls, ALLOW the Gardisil vaccination. My oldest while in nursing school had to get a slew of vaccs. I gave my girls my opinion on Gardisil (for a small percentage of cervical cancer HPV). That vaccine hasn’t been around long enough and there appears to be bad side effects.

I CHOSE NOT to vaccinate my kids with the CHICKEN POX vaccine when it first came out. I discussed this with my kid’s life-long pediatrician and I told him that I was aware of the RISKS of chicken pox after age 13 and IF, and only IF, my kids hadn’t gotten the disease by age 12, I would then get the vaccination. Well, when my oldest was 8 and my youngest 2, my four year-old got it first (from a birthday party), then my 8, 7 and 2 year-old got the pox. I had chicken pox as a kid. Itchy and icky for two weeks. The medical science of that vaccine is still “unsettled” as to the immunity one gets from the shot and how long it lasts. Five years was all they were saying back then. I suppose forever getting boosters.

Good little government bot take your medicine. It's good for you!

Unfortunately this is being pushed for different reasons. Why are they stoking hysteria? We'll find out sooner or later.

But the choice must be left to family and doctor not the government

I don't know how those who believe the above have become "anti vaccine".

Some here really like leaping to conclusions.

Christie and Paul aren't the only politicians sympathizing with anti-vaccination fanatics.

Ben Shapiro is a F***ing moron. They said nothing of the sort.

I was in the age group where they came back decades later and said our immunizations were not valid. Being in a college setting at that time, I had to get the MMR again. I developed the rash (no itch or other symptoms). Dr. begged me to allow me to show the rash to everyone he could drag into the room. “This is the Measles rash. You probably will never see this again.” Not so much, I guess.

I am the same way. MMR, whooping cough? Fine. But I never benefited from the flu shot. Why do we need to stress our systems to get vaccinated from everything?

I’ve known 2 families who had kids contract pertussis, both had their kids vaccinated. In our homeschool co-op there are many families who have not had any of their children vaccinated. Despite having contact with the ill children of the vaccinated families, none of the non-vaccinated kids picked it up. Also, while at a clinic I heard the lab techs commenting on a coughing child who was walking past, “Oh, that’s the one with whooping cough”. It was a Somalian child. If immigrants are required to be vaccinated in order to attend school, then that boy was vaccinated as well.

I find this very odd.

My kids are mostly up to date on vaccinations. After 2 girls had bad reactions to shots, they are not getting more for a while.
