“Cant WAIT for this to happen to Worst Buy..!”
What do you have against Best Buy?
Best Buy sucks almost as bad as Radio Shack. They only have more stuff, bigger retail space, and more people that know shit about absolutely nothing. Their employees usually just get in my way when I might RARELY go there to actually buy something. lol
The last time I was in Best Buy (not very recently -- but we'll get to that), I knew what they were like when I went in. I wanted a TV. I knew what I wanted. It wasn't top-of-the-line, but it was just a bit under $1000, and not an insignificant purchase. I walked in, found it, and a guy came over. I said, " I want this TV, Can I just pay for it and carry it out?" He said I could.
Then we began a long, slow process as he tried to sell me this and that. Do I need a stand? Do I need cables? Do I need a warranty?
I said, "Stop. I'm buying this TV. I'm not buying anything else today. You're making the fastest and easiest $1000 you will make all day. Just ring up the sale, and let me walk out with this. If you try to sell me one more thing, I will walk out of here without the TV."
He said: "Fine. I understand. I'll just ring you up. But, are you sure you don't need cables?"
I turned on my heel, walked to Customer Service and told them how they just lost $1000.
Haven't been back since. They are pushy, obnoxious know-nothings.
When some salesdroid tried to convince me that the 3D TV I was looking at “popped” more than another model because it had higher resolution, I was done with Best Buy.
Only reason I’ll go there now is to buy things like specialty batteries or lenses (say, Nikon branded) that I want to examine in person before purchasing because there’s so much deception about such products online. I know I’m paying thru the nose for it, but have gotten BS elsewhere often enough that I’ll pay for the convenience & confidence. Anything else, well, forget it.
Performed a totally unrequested “stress test” on my hard disk for no reason, lost all my photos, no apology, spun various dubious stories about where my computer was that whole time —took MONTHS for them to even tell me about it, despite repeated calls and email.
WORST COMPUTER EXPERIENCE IN MY WHOLE LIFE.
Terrible, terrible company.
I cannot say enough bad things about Worst Buy.
