This seems to be the perpetual beauty contest of candidates that the gop wing of the uniparty comes out with. Rest assured that whomever is picked will have the uniparty seal of approval. That or they’ll throw the election to the ‘rat faction with not even a second thought.

Here is another of his statements that shocked me and gave me pause about him as POTUS. From 2013.

Walker also said “it’s preferable” to have one party rule in government, like he does in his state.

“Conventional wisdom [is] that Americans want divided government, but what I think they’ve seen over the last few years is that instead of checks and balances what that’s gotten them is a lot of gridlock,” he said. “And I think it’s significant to make the case, as we did in Wisconsin.”

I’m taking a break from listening to Rush...recently he’s just lost all his fire, talks endlessly about irrelevant stuff or sports...then makes this dumb move to join the GOPe circus practically nominating Walker at this early time. Rush may lose some credibility with this one...seems he’s colluding w/GOP elites on this one.

It helps everyone if you put your comments in perspective:

I would only vote for Ted or Sarah at this point.

Did Scott Walker Just Become the Newest Obamacare Defender?

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2015/01/scott_walker_s_unexpected_defense_of_obamacare_the_wisconsin_governor_may.html Jan 8 2015

...And this month, the New England Journal of Medicine is running a paper saying the ACA’s supporters “have good reason to worry” about an upcoming Supreme Court decision that could gut the law.

But on Wednesday—finally!—ACA defenders thought they may have caught a break. “Republican Governor Caught on Tape Demolishing the Legal Case Against Obamacare,” blared a ThinkProgress headline. In the piece, the site’s justice editor Ian Millhiser detailed comments that Wisconsin Gov. (and potential 2016 Republican presidential contender) Scott Walker made to the Wall Street Journal in 2013 about his interpretation of the president’s health care law.

Walker’s money quote is this: “But, in the end, there’s no real substantive difference between a federal exchange, or a state exchange, or the in-between, the hybrid, the partnership.”

You make some excellent points.
My concern is that in a Presidential election, for your message to be heard, people must listen to you. I listened to Mr. Reagan and his message resonated.
I can listen to Gov. Scott Walker and get the message but I am a lot more of a policy ‘wonk’ than most.
Most people listen to Gov. Sarah Palin and even spend time posting criticisms of her, proving again that Sarah Palin lives in Liberals heads, maybe even their dreams.
And she has the Reaganesque ability to put a philosophical point into a zinger.

But Cannon doesn’t think this means Walker gets off scot-free.

“He is the only Republican governor who refused to establish an exchange but still put forward a proposal that relied on there being subsidies in a federal exchange,” Cannon said. “That was a pretty questionable move.”

Well, let me recap.

WI was a Blue state when Walker became governor.

He was so successful in the process of winning 3 elections in 4 years for the Governorship seat that he won over enough voters to turn a Blue state into a Purple (or is it Red as you alluded to?) state during his tenure.

That, I believe, is what you were complaining about, Walker enjoying the fruits of his political labor, and using them to benefit the citizens of WI.

Then shouldn’t he expand his model to other blue/purple states and fix them first before bringing a very rare and largely unapplicable circustance to the US in general?

The States are the Laboratories of Experimentation, not the Union, as zero has demonstrated.

Walker has executive experience in running a Democrat county and state.

HE KNOWS THE KEYS ISSUES and has beaten the Liberals and the liberal judges and labor. Scott knows how to turn around an out of control government and return it for the benefit of the people.

Conservatives may not win on every issue, but knocking other candidates on single issues could bury us in defeat.

Scott knows that the USA needs to return power and decision making to the states. Competition is good for the USA. Just compare Texas and Wisconsin to California, Illinois and New York. We need to reduce federal power and spending.

Conservatives need to win, make positive changes, and with results that really helps the USA and find leaders that will continue the conservative agenda.

We need to do it right with God on our side.

Now that is pretty weak, but I’ll take it at face value.

No, on second thought, that’s too nonsensical for me to spend any time on.

Sentimentality over substance. He says the nice stuff, so we better rally behind him?

Huh? Rush's point that that Walker has DONE stuff. What in the wide world of sports are you talking about?

If Democrats acted in a responsible way, then maybe we could have government that was beneficial to the taxpayers and voters.

When the Democrats in WI walk away from their duties and go to Illinois and avoid their duty, then we need to have responsible Republicans that will run the state.

Why do we allow the Democrats to get away with excess power, spending and bad laws?

Yes Republicans need self control and do things correctly that benefit all.

Living in Minnesota, next door to Wisconsin, we were able to have a ‘front row seat’ to the shenanigans and dirt and screwball liberals who tried valiantly to derail the Walker train. They failed. Scott Walker is the real deal. He never hesitated or questioned his conservative principles when turning the Badger state around politically.

Is not that what we conservatives want? Why are some of you folks here so idiotic? No one is perfect, but thus far, Walker is the closest thing we have to Ronald Reagan that has appeared in the past 27 years.

My advise to Freepers is to batten down the hatches. The left-wing press will be going after him aplenty. In the meantime, we can vet him; we can put some pressure on all the candidates to develop a secure border policy; we can determine which candidate will be able to communicate this vision to the general public.

Freepers, we have several possible good nominees out there. Keep you minds open. Do not prejudge them; any one of at least 6-8 of them would b e preferable to any liberal democrat the dimwits will throw at us.

Quit calling them names. It is childish. I expect more from conservatives; not the whining I have been seeing here. We are looking like a bunch of spoiled brats who are never satisfied and prefer to throw tantrums.

The fact that Walker favors one party controlling the govt, does not mean that he favors only one political party. I am quite certain that Walker, who strikes me as a man who believes in our traditional values, favors free speech and free elections. Walker is exactly right this and people like you need to realize this; if you vote for an executive (whether governor or president) because you like what he says and you want him to do what he says he wants to do, you have to give him the legislature as well, otherwise it is nearly impossible for him (or her) to keep the promises he made with the voter. Walker could not have accomplished the reforms that he did had his party not been in control of the legislature. And it is high time that people everywhere realized this. We could have saved our nation a lot of grief over the last 50-60 years, had we as a people thought this through and given our presidents a congress that they could work with. Walker did not say that he favors a one-party system which would only lead to tyranny and corruption. The point of what he said simply is that if you want the chief executive to actually be able to do do what he says he will try to do, you HAVE to put his party in office. All Walker is doing is pointing out the obvious, and giving the wishy-washy middle-of-the-road compromisers something to think about (if it is ever going to be possible to get them to think.)

Now I do not live in Wisconsin but I did become very interested in Wisconsin politics after Walker was elected. It seems to me that Walker's primary goal was putting the state on a sound financial footing, reducing taxes, bring spending under control, and encouraging growth of business. A big part of achieving those goals was taking on the govt unions, but that is not the only thing he did. Stopping vote fraud was another part of his agenda.

If he would achieving those same goals for the federal govt, then clearly he would have to take on illegal immigration which is a huge cost to the taxpayer, and again, dealing with vote fraud means dealing with illegal immigration.

So I don't think overall, if Walker stays true to his goals, he will be pushing amnesty. So please, don't make good the enemy of the perfect!

Rush has been about the gop faction of the uniparty for a long time. I don’t listen; tired of the cheerleading.
