Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who has surged to the top of the potential GOP field, said on "This Week" Sunday that he wouldn't rule out putting U.S. boots on the ground in Syria if he were the commander-in-chief.

Cruz is the one to go with. Period.

You are making this about me and not Walker. Why is that? Yet another Red herring like above?

Walker seems to be too cozy when it comes to crony capitalism, and his stance on illegal immigration is pro-amnesty.

Third, Cruz will take a stand against illegal immigration and for traditional marriage, which Walker has abandoned.

But do you always publicly broadcast those options?

There sure as hell need to be boots on the ground to destroy ISIS as Nazi Germany was destroyed. And to not turn the region over to Iran.

Is there nothing else but this either/or construct of “It’s either boots on the ground or just airstrikes”?

There is something in between Obama’s handling of this and McCain, right?

I agree with you on Cruz. I would like to see Cruz/Walker.

I doubt you will see Cruz announce publicly that he would never put "boots on the ground" to oppose ISIS. I doubt he will take any option off the table without knowing what tomorrow brings.

I’m all for Cruz but we don’t need more of this self destructive crap. Now Walker is the enemy? Not.

Boots on the ground in Syria. Well Scott will certainly be getting a lot of support from Lindsay and Juan. As every day goes by I am seeing Scott Walker like a candle in the wind.

What do you think about what Dr. Sivana posted in post #3?

To rule out boots on the ground anyplace is just ridiculous.

The interview was with Martha Radditz. She was a total pit bull in her questioning of Scott Walker. He did try to give some formula answers; he should've known that wouldn't work.

JMHO....Walker held up pretty well. He's appealing and personable enough to be a good spokesperson as president. He was MUCH BETTER about securing the borders and not supporting amnesty than his previous statements were.

On the "boots on the ground" in Syria? He didn't really say anything that indicated a new direction and more wisdom in US foreign policy than the status quo.

“Is he riding the rocket a la Dr. Strangelove/McCain?”

Yes, we would need a military rebuild before this kind of talk. He has foot in mouth disease, and his poll numbers will reflect it.

Walker said. “I think when you have the lives of Americans at stake and our freedom loving allies anywhere in the world, we have to be prepared to do things that don’t allow those measures, those attacks, those abuses to come to our shores.”

What allies?

There is another name for US boots on the ground in Syria....World War Three.

Thanks for the reply.

This isn’t about bringing someone down (like you said in post #12), but raising Cruz up. The MSM seems obsessed with Walker right now and there are others that would be just as good a commander in chief and are far more conservative than him in other areas.

Why is the MSM talking about him non-stop? That really has me wondering.

I seriously doubt that the MSM wants Cruz anywhere near the Oval Office.

Cruz/Kasich in my personal opinion. Kasich locks down Ohio as he is very popular in that state.

Look at post #3 and then also ask yourself if while you personally would not want to take any option off the table, would you always broadcast this publicly?

I never said he was the enemy.

Perhaps you should be saying that Walker saying stuff like this only serves to be self destructive on his part against himself.

Idiot. No more troops anywhere, unless we are helping Israel mass-deport Arab squatters from the West Bank, confiscating Pakistan’s nukes, or deposing the Mexican government.

Great, now we have a governor ready to follow the President into the HELL HOLE called the Middle East. The people of Wisconsin do not deserve that.

That is exactly what I was thinking.

Who the heck would want to join us by putting their boots on the ground in Syria?

Our “allies” would be hitting the exit door ASAP.

I’m so tired of the cutsy “boots on the ground” phraseology which has been beat to death by the media. Why can’t we just call it the more accurate and two-syllables-fewer “GROUND TROOPS”?
