You think maybe a worldwide threat from radical Islamic terrorism might be a genuine reason for a leader of a country threatened by them as we are may be a justification for him to address a Joint Meeting of Congress?

Welcome to the best show on earth. Netanyahu , like America knows Obama ain’t an American.

Netanyahu has a far greater handle on American culture and the english language than that muslim alien occupier and has no problem with the semantics. None.

As the new leader of the western world, he will prove it with his first words. Just watch!

The obama - islamoNazi brigades are scared to the core by just a Bibi speech!? (They sure don’t want Americans to learn anything about a their evil seditious undercutting of the once- great and respected USA. But the American people will find out. If it’s not too late (

Pretty much the load of manure one would expect from the WaPo. They know there’s one over-riding reason they don’t want Bibi speaking in Congress - by comparison he’ll make Obama look like the poseur he is, especially in his response to an issue as serious as ayatollahs with nukes.

Mr. Kagan, please take your five “reasons” and...go play in the traffic.

He is also a speaker at The Hoover Institute and I’ve met him.

Read only one book of the three I purchased but, is was seminal in its view of the world for the next 100 years, as far as I am concerned: “End of dreams, return of history”

http://www.hoover.org/research/end-dreams-return-history

If anyone takes a gander at this link, which summarizes the book, you can’t help but ponder the regional powers, their spheres of influence and how even the chumps at EU will be happy to use us and armed forces, so will the Russians, the Indians and at times the Chinese.

Still, I would have to agree in concept with his position here but, for practicality and pragmatism, I wholly disagree.

It’s inappropriate? How so? This president and his acolytes are done in two years and how much longer will we have before we have to act on Iran?

Bibi certainly doesn’t mind being that messenger but, there is no reason to shoot him, figuratively.

His presence continues awareness on Iran, where no one else can.

It will damage Israel’s image in the United States. Uhm, no it won’t. We have heard for 20 years that Iran is going to get the bomb and a certain previous president saddled Iran with being a part of “The Axis of Evil”.

Americans understand Israel’s unique position in this unfolding story and we won’t stand for it ultimately becoming a tragedy.

It is not good for the American debate over Iran. Really? Seems to me that while are best friend in the area, Israel, is totally in jeopardy of being wiped off the face of the map and their history eviscerated, if not also wiped “clean”.

Israel is important to us religiously but, also strategically. They have a spy network in the area that likely is better than we have.

They have commerce that is shared and purchased by Americans and our allies. We call that a strategic interest, at a minimum.

It is not good for Congress. All I can say is “WTF????”

It fails the Churchill test. It totally validates the Churchill test.

If Churchill was our best friend in Europe at large, you gotta say Israel in general is our best friend in an area surrounded by 800 million crazies, who would screw things up for their religious jihad.

That’s an interruption to Oil and Gas worldwide.

Shipping lanes armed by turban wearing pirates. I think we’ve seen this movie before and our Marines happen to have included a line about it in their hymn.

If you think a bunch of dead innocents is bad now but, not enough to demand action by the UN or the world armed forces, wait until the carnage goes medieval and gets mixed with the efficiency of Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Pol Pot and maybe a little Mao thrown in.

Yeah, no. Bibi is here for the right reasons at the right time, to lay it for the American people and remind us what the issues are, in regards to Iran and just how dangerous it will be to acquiesce or appease them, even a little.

The real question is will the Lame Stream media even report on his visit and his message?

Still, enjoy Kagan’s writings though.

Tricky Dick Nixon once spoke of ‘firebombing’ Brookings in the late summer of 1971(?) as a possible way for his Plumbers to get access, (While the fire was being fought), inside to retrieve Brooking’s files on the Vietnam war.

Bullet point one: bullshit

Bullet point two: bullshit 2.0

Bullet point three: bullshit x3

Bullet point four: more bullshit

Bullet point five: historic bullshit. FDR loved Britain.
He sold Churchill’s agenda to Congress himself.

“I guess that why 0’s election team is in Israel trying to beat him?”

Exactly. Many of those whose careers and relevance in the world are linked to the status quo (i.e. the ‘established’ world order) fail to see that the world is now teetering on the head of a pin. They perseverate on political decorum, and proper protocol, but fail to see that sometimes all of that goes out the window when one is trying to save a nation, a people, or a way of life.

I don't think I'm being overly dramatic. We live in a world in which 2000 people were massacred in Nigeria by Islamic fanatics just this past month; a world in which radicalized Muslims stormed into an office in Paris and slaughtered innocent cartoonists just weeks ago; a world in which a radicalized Muslim strapped a GoPro camera to himself and went about taking and killing hostages in a Jewish cafe in Paris; a world in which beheadings have been the lead story on our nightly news on multiple occasions; a world in which threats of “death to Israel” and “death to the US” are disregarded because - in part - they've become so common. In short, Netanyahu is completely justified in trying to get a message of sanity out - whatever the forum.

Ps: Hussein would be punishable for treason ( on numerous substantive counts not this speech thing) if he were an American. Absent that, what laws would apply? Hypothetical question of course

"patriotic Americans should not be enjoying that spectacle, no matter how they feel about Obama"

Suddenly, patriotism isn't the last refuge of a scoundrel.

Haven’t read the responses yet, but can instantly say with certainty that the Libs don’t want Bibi addressing Congress because they are running scared that their carefully-created illusion of the all-wonderful “First Black President” is already crashing and burning, and Bibi might just bring the whole damn thing down.

The Democrats got involved in Argentina too, look how that worked out.

And the Dems climbed all over themselves to support Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, that didn’t work out so well and the guy’s successor is just as big a red.

And then there’s Obama’s meddling in Honduras, trying to force that country to reinstall the communist they threw out over his corruption.

Obama’s meddling in Kenyan elections...
