They did this stunt in Ohio as well made us building owners stop all smoking in any building that is open to the public. I hate cigarette smoke can't stand the smell. But I hate even more the government telling me what I can and can't do in it as far as smoking or drinking etc.

We had already banned smoking in our building we did not need the state to make it mandatory but they went ahead and did so.

They said it was to protect the public. We used to go out and eat a lot some times we would try a new restaurant and it would reek of cigarettes. We needed no one to protect us. We just left and went somewhere else, problem solved. But the frigging nanny-staters had to have their way and now we all have to lose one more freedom.

It is truly amazing to see all the closet Nanny Staters on this site when some Nanny State Nazi passes a law that benefits them personally. They are willing to rob other people of their Liberty when it benefits them personally in some way.

Prohibiting smoking may make a non smoker happy bit it robs the liberty of those who smoke.

Frankly, even though I detest the smell of cigarette smoke, I can't imagine a New Orleans Jazz Club without the atmosphere of wafting clouds of second hand smoke.

My guess is that most Jazz Club owners will not enforce this law. If the police want to come in and arrest smokers, then they can do do at their own risk. I suspect that the police will not enforce it either.

This is a law designed to make politicians feel good about themselves. Kinda like Obamacare.
