A Passaic County grand jury has decided not to indict five William Paterson University students accused of raping and kidnapping another student on campus, officials said Thursday.
The five students Darius Singleton, Termaine Scott, Garrett Collick, Jahmel Latimer and Noah Williams, all 18 no longer face charges after the grand jurys decision, which was first reported by NorthJersey.com Thursday afternoon.
"The case was investigated and then presented to the grand jury, but the grand jurors declined to indict and entered a no bill, Chief Assistant Passaic County Prosecutor Lisa Squitieri confirmed in an email to NJ Advance Media.
We respect the decision reached through this legal process, university President Kathleen Waldron said in a statement. The University has its own student conduct process that is independent of the state's legal proceedings and the University process will continue.

Sounds like there was a race angle to this one.
No bill? That means NO case.
Hope they sue Waldron into bankruptcy...
Right....and they close down a frat and freak out over unproven allegations of rape at UVA. Guess what the difference is between the alleged perps? Anyone?
Verdict first—Trial later, if ever.
Sounds like there might be a whole lot of race angles to this one!
It is more likely that the woman made it all up. College girls don’t discriminate when it comes to lying about this stuff. See the Duke case. Besides, there have been white males expelled from college for no reason, and an Asian man from Vassar College as well. See http://www.mindingthecampus.com/2013/08/the_dubious_rape_trial_at_vass/
Time for a huge lawsuit. This s**t has got to stop. Let them go to trial and be found guilty, THEN expel them.
Does the failure to indict indicate that they were innocent of the charges, or that it could not be proven?
yup...link to pictures of all the accused...lets just say “if obama had a son” http://www.nj.com/passaic-county/index.ssf/2014/12/wpu_rape_case_fifth_suspect_released_on_bail.html#incart_related_stories
I’m sure whitey will be out burning down the town after this decision...
I don't know how it works in NJ, but here in GA if a grand jury fails to indict then either (1) the DA felt compelled to seek an indictment in a weak case because of public or political pressure or (2) the DA’s office completely mis-handled the case. I've observed both of the above, but (1) is far more common than (2).
They use 1in 5. But close enough for government work.
Not to worry, the radical fenenists posing as freepers (like ansel12) will be along soon to decry them all as ‘rapists’
As in the Trayvon and Ferguson situations, it appears the NJ grand jury did its job of standing between the people and potentially abusive government.
Universities often settle these lawsuits after agreeing with the plaintiffs not to disclose how much money it was.
That’s because it’s undeniably a whole lot of money, and universities don’t want students, prospective students and parents to learn how costly their violations of due process turn out to be.
They probably don’t want the rest of the world to know how much cash they have on hand, either.
Correct.
