Could U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio win back the White House for the Republicans?
Some political experts think so, describing the Florida lawmaker as a candidate who has the support of the partys conservative base, but who also has crossover appeal.
Rubio, who is said to be seriously leaning toward running for president in 2016, has earned credibility with both so-called establishment Republicans, and the partys conservative faction, which has wielded considerable influence in recent national and local elections, especially during the all-important primaries.
Marco Rubio is one of the best organized in terms of political campaigns, Alfonso Aguilar, executive director of the American Principles Project's Latino Partnership and the former chief of the U.S. Office of Citizenship under George W. Bush, told Fox News Latino recently.
Hes very conservative, and we need a good candidate who is truly conservative, Aguilar said. He will attract the base, but at the same time he can attract independent voters. He has always had establishment Republican support, and the support of tea party groups.

And I could pass as a woman if I'd been born with a vagina . . .
But seriously, I think they are smelling the fear of a Scott Walker upsurge, a guy who has actually accomplished something for conservatives.

Of course Fox New Latino wouldn’t be aware that Rubio destroyed his credibility with conservatives when he partnered with Chuck Schumer to ram amnesty down our throats.

Moderates don’t want war and amnesty and Cuban-firsters.
I don’t think the average voter cares a third world basket case.

Rubio has been a reliable constitutional conservative except for being played by McCain and Schummer on that immigration reform committee. It might be that Rubio finally gets it why US citizens want the invasion of the US not just stopped, but reversed.

I hope so, but frankly I'm tired of
hoping our candidates, in spite of their actions, really have conservative interests in mind.
Besides, Rubio being so close to the Bushes does not bode well.
We need to get behind a sure thing this time.

If that's the case, and that is a gigantic IF, Rubio is stupid to be POTUS.

It's unfortunate he made such a monumental mistake on his immigration position. Joining the bamster and Schumer in lying to the American public is not a resume enhancer on the conservative side of things.
Marco is charismatic, well spoken, and telegenic. He is going to be rejected the old fashioned way:
He earned it.

It's akin to saying "He's a straight guy,
except for the times he tried homosexuality."
In other words, a non-starting argument.

we need to get behind a sure thing this timeThat's why I'm thinking there's an advantage to someone from the Senate or even the HOR. They have a voting record on DC issues, and we know who their friends are in that environment.

Yup. He’s been co-opted. He’s one of them now. So that’s why he’s an acceptable candidate to the Establishment, in case Mitt and Jeb and Chris Christie aren’t successful.
