If you think the best of the best in talk radio doesn’t know how to use language in the subtlest of ways—to manipulate the way people think and behave—you don’t understand what he is.

I am afraid to say that you don’t have a clue as to who and what kind of person Rush is. He would never do that and it would never cross his mind to do so.

He does not use his platform to manipulate anyone. He is there to educate and inform. If you don’t like it, then don’t listen, but don’t insult him to me, because I know who he is and I must defend against your ridiculous accusations.

All I’m saying is it’s clear Limbaugh’s purpose isn’t to advance conservatism. There have been times over the years when he admits to this, and to the fact that his primary motive has to do with advancing his personal interests.

The fact is, Rush’s career benefits more than anything else from the façade that his voice is some sort of powerful weapon on the front lines of battle in the war to achieve victory for conservatism.

I really don’t know what Rush did to pee in your cheerios, but your assertions are utter horse puckey and I warned you not to continue to insult him in posts to me, so here ya go..

Methinks you are one of those who resents wealth and has determined that all wealthy entrepreneurs are evil capitalists.

That would explain your misunderstanding of what conservatism is.

Having made a visit to your home page, it is clear to me that you view the world through a very cloudy lens and have a distorted view of capitalism. In point of fact, your apparent definition of crony capitalism seems to be linked to evil doers when in fact it is linked to the State or to government. It has nothing to do with evil. Unless you believe all capitalism is evil or you believe that all governments are evil.

As such you see evil everywhere and particularly with the wealthy capitalist. Must be tough to be you.

Actually it is you who is the threat to speech and manipulator of opinions. Not Rush. Your assertions have absolutely no relationship with the truth and you hide it under a veil of reason and faith.

Everything you reference with regard to the relationship between capitalism, government and evil is explainable by Christian doctrine. That the world is fallen and evil, although unequally distributed, is potentially behind everyone’s motives outside of Christ.

No worldly (secular) ideology is broad enough or powerful enough to explain the age old problem of man, how he organizes his society and what the role of evil is.

That’s all I’m getting at on my home page. Be sure you think about it clearly before coming to a strong conclusion.

I mean no insult to Rush. I’m really only saying what he has already said—that he isn’t motivated to advance conservatism but to achieve as much personal success as possible. It isn’t an insult—it’s a repetition of what Rush has explained.

And once this is established about his motive, there are necessary factual (not emotional) conclusions to make. One of these factual (not emotional) conclusions in particular might—if Rush himself were ever to gain insight into it—influence him to reconsider his priorities. Who knows. Anyway what I’m talking about is the fact that Rush is no different from rinos in that he chooses personal gain over what’s good for the country. Given the fact that with his voice he could push a real conservative over the top in the presidential primaries, if he applied what he claims is his true political belief to his daily comments on the primaries.

Exactly what I don’t understand... He says Cruz would score 100 on a conservative scorecard, but after the caller goes off later says there’s no perfect Republican candidate. I was frustrated all week with Rush saying Walker’s speech was far and away the best at Iowa. I don’t see how anyone says that after hearing Cruz’s. Others said it in this thread, he got tons more applause.
I think Rush knows something, he obviously has resources that most do not, that he of course won’t talk about.
Just disappointed, if the Koch brothers set about a billion aside for Walker already?... That’s ball game.
Still want to see in the debates what Cruz can do. If he gets enough time to get his points in, he will make it very interesting.

The media - especially Rush - has to make the primaries intere$ting... big spending all over the country. Can’t sew up one guy too early, e x c e p t..

RUSH DID! If you, I and everybody else knew Mitt was throwing his support and donation machine to Walker, how could Rush not? Isn’t his job to be on top of these things? To know he was cementing the Koch’s and Establishment support for Walker by inflating him to SUPERMAN status?

A year before the debates, on March 3, ~30 days away, we will hear Netenyahu and Cruz educate the idiots on the Left on the danger Iran refuses to back off. This will separate the Men from the boys. Walker is still furiously trying to knit together a foreign policy, as he, too, was surprised by this establishment silver platter passing him to the POTUS.

RUSH: This is why I haven’t endorsed Walker and I didn’t say he’s perfect and I did not get into anything specifically policy. He beat the left by being conservative and fearless and taking them on and not trying to become a partial liberal.

He has done some great things for Wisconsin, but he is not a principled conservative, he is a pragmatic conservative, which means if he thinks he is going to take enough flak, he won’t fight for or support a conservative policy position.
