More Evidence China Preparing To Attack Japan

While America is preoccupied with the Middle East, evidence accumulates that China is actively preparing...the launch of a war with Japan. Just over a week after I wrote this article on evidence of China’s preparations for an attack, Janes on 22 January published this image from 13 October 2014 of the helipads under construction in the Nanji Islands: The image shows the construction of ten helipads with trenching around them. The trenching would be for individual fuel lines to each helipad. This is an expeditionary helipad complex. Flights of ten helicopters would fly in from the mainland, refuel as quickly as possible, and then fly on to the Senkakus. This kind of refueling arrangement is done only if you are going to war. In about 1937, a Royal Air Force pilot visiting a German airbase realized that a war was coming when he saw the refuelling points around the airbase’s apron. The first place that the Chinese helicopter attack will be spotted from is the new Taiwanese radar station on Leshan Mountain (24° 30’N, 121° 04’E). This is the most powerful Pave Paws radar built to date. It can see 3,100 miles into Chinese airspace and, for example, detected a North Korean missile launch before Japan did. Seeing helicopters landing and taking off at the Nanji Islands, 200 miles north of Leshan, would be a easy. Raytheon provides maintenance for the radar under contract, and it is understood that the United States is getting the feed from it. The Janes article is wrong in saying that the closest Chinese airbase to the Senkakus is at Luqiao (28° 33’ N, 121° 25’ E). The Shuimen airbase (26° 56’N, 120° 05’E), built on a ridge farther south specifically for this conflict, is a few miles closer. The Nanji Islands are equidistant between them.

Anyone who desires territorial concessions form a U.S. ally realizes that they have until January, 2017 to make it happen.

That's quite a prediction. Somebody is going to look like a genius or a fool.

Why bother attacking? If they adopt a long-term strategy, the Japanese will have mostly disappeared through old age attrition in 100 years and the Chinese could land from pleasure crafts.
Same with the Muslims, if they just quietly spread out and pro-create at their usual rate that would be the envy of cockroaches, they would rule the world in 100 years, but they are pushing it and the mask slips....

I just can’t see it happening. I wonder how much this kind of thing affects, or is affected by, defense contracts.

Well, let’s see. The Chicoms are commies, the Japs are capitalists. Who will the marxist/muslim chairman O side with in a war?

A helicopter attack? I don’t think they would survive the trip.

When something really BIG happens, I expect EVERYONE to move almost simultaneously. Not a conspiracy, just opportunism.

So expect China to make a play for Taiwan and/or Japan, North Korea to start something with S. Korea, Iran to march to war against Israel (through Iraq & Syria), Russia to formally invade Ukraine.

I expect when something BIG happens, the major players will move FAST, to take advantage of US weakness and to make sure that what strength we have left is spread even thinner across multiple fronts.

Why would China invade Japan? Do they want all their plastic trinkets back?

I think its obvious that China is preparing to take the islands. When, is another question, but when the opportunity comes they intend to be ready.

An important point will be to provide the US with a believable excuse to stay out of it. A middle east war, for example, would provide us with all the excuse we need to wring our hands, give indignant speeches, offer our sympathies to the Japanese, but stay out of it.

That idea is predicated upon the assumption that a president as bad or worse than Obama won’t be elected.

Consider Jimmy Carter (Iran, Panama Canal) and Bill Clinton (selling out to China) came before Obama.

Exactly.

But I was under the impression they're more likely to attach Taiwan and not Japan, but what do I know?

I do too. But opportunism doesn't eliminate conspiracy. Depending upon who is president at the time, I believe there could be tacit complicity on the part of the US to whatever China does. They and we would make sure we were too busy elsewhere to get involved.

The Senkaku Islands are a set of ~5 small islands that no one lives on.

Well after WWII, during the Nixon administartion, the US gave them to Japan. But they are much closer to Taiwan (who also claims them), but the Chicoms also claim them (as they claim everything as theirs).

Their value is that they may have good oil reserves. The Chicoms may also be interested because this would serve as a base to invade the east side of Taiwan.

Being so far from Japan, they could be effectively defended only with the help of Taiwan and the US. Without that help, Japan has to make a decision; how much will she pay for these small islands so far from home?

If China gets away with this, Taiwan now knows she is alone and can expect no help from anyone. That changes the politics tremendously.

Here's one for you: China is building a navy underground. Remember who posted it first.

Yep. But it need not be another war somewhere else. All that would be needed would be for the US government to offer an opinion: Those islands legally belong to China in the first place.
