SE MA (where I used to live) has a storm comparable to the Blizzard of 1978. Back then, it was a disaster. Precautions weren't taken, and hundreds of vehicles were stuck on highways for a week. CT got the cars off the road and was able to clean up the storm quickly after it ended.

In the past few weeks, there've been A LOT of storms that have caused horrendous accidents.

What's my point? The lesson is that weather forecasting is imperfect and things change. Better to prepare ahead of time than have an impossible situation after a storm hits. This is just people complaining. People would be complaining if precautions weren't taken and the storm had a major impact on NYC.
