Meet the Freedom Caucus
National Review ^ | JANUARY 26, 2015 2:15 AM | Joel Gehrke

About 30 House Republicans will meet Monday evening to establish the bylaws of a new caucus animated by two principles: First, rank-and-file Republicans must pressure leadership to enact a more conservative agenda. And second, this pressure should never involve frantic scurrying on the House floor.

Elections should have consequences. Republicans ignored that when reelecting Boehner as Speaker. There was a lot of pushback against 'so-called' conservative Representatives like Jim Jordan of Ohio and Raul Labrador of Idaho. Is this window dressing or a real move towards more conservative representation by these members?

When they all decide to walk away from the GOP, let me know. Otherwise, this is just more smoke being blown up our noses. Anyone who falls for it gets exactly what they deserve - and part of that is to be laughed at by real Conservatives.

The people of America need another Paul Revere

That would require far too much sacrifice. Jobs...mortgages...new cars...etc. All endangered when one embarks on the patriotic path. Granted, our Founding Fathers were under the immediate threat of death when they signed the Declaration - they all had lives too....jobs...farms...bank accounts...they also had something not one of us has today: BALLS. There are no true patriots left in America. And when the occasional one pops up, we call them criminal, cry for their imprisonment, etc.

"When they all decide to walk away from the GOP, let me know."

I have been in agreement with that statement for a while now. But I do backslide now and then and wonder if something can be salvaged from the swamp.

  Bad dog, no biscuit.

This will be better if the Freedom caucusoids refrain altogether from participating in the Republican caucus and refuse to vote for anything they do not actively support in their own caucus.

That's been my stance for about the last 15 years. I worked like hell to get dubya elected in 2000 and 2004, thinking that somehow, since the R's had the House, and Senate from 2000-2006 that having an R President would mean stuff would actually happen for us Conservatives. Boy, was I wrong, and it's a mistake I won't be making again. No more R's. Period. I would love to vote for Cruz, but it won't happen so long as there is an R next to his name. Something about getting bent over and screwed by supposed friends that I don't care for. Apparently, there are plenty of R voters that do.

You have described reality. Today, the vast and controlling bulk of the American demographic want a life totally devoted to eating, drinking, drugging, copulating, evacuating the bowels, snoring and free tickets to “The Games.” (The Third World invaders sensing the American demographics devotion to the aforementioned smell a kill and a future sack of all American property, free women and other perks belonging to history’s winners.)

Thanks. I don’t think I’m too far off. Take a look at the FOX News feature Watter’s world. Truly frightening.

As long as people can wake up in the house they pay mortgage on, get in their new/semi new car and drive to work, put in a full day, take their paycheck and grab a six pack to watch the game on their big screen TV, they DO NOT CARE what is happening in Washington, let alone their localities. To do anything at all to upset the cart would require far too much sacrifice - they would risk that house, the car, the job, the paycheck, the beer, the ballgame...why in the hell would they do that?!?!

The tragedy being Americans are in the process of losing even the small comforts you describe. Eager invaders are here in growing numbers and eventually will lose patience and simply take what Americans have(in historical terms it is called a “Sack.”).
