The problem is that personal gun ownership is not really necessary in order to reap the benefits. The benefit accrues to those who “might” have guns. The issue is one of deterrence, which has never been fully appreciated by the left in the case of nuclear weapons or guns.

The best information was in the post yesterday which had statistics for murders per capita demonstrating that Plano Texas was at the bottom of the list. The U.S. cities with the most stringent gun regulations were also those with the worst murder rates.

It’s true - merely `owning’ a gun may not make you safer.

Now - earning your CWP through a gun safety & handling course which includes live firing with the defensive gun of your choice, and regular range practice afterward using combat firing techniques AND practicing situational awareness at all times with your weapon always within reach,

THAT will make you safer.
