Who really believes the convenient detail of “death by sniper” from that time period and the fog of full-scale war actually came back to his survivors?
Maybe some general information about “where” the death occurred may become known (on the beach at Normandy, at the Battle of the Bulge, brothel in Paris, etc.) may have got back to the states, but I strongly doubt any supporting detail (shot, bombed, land-mined, stabbed with bayonet, etc) came with it in those days. Had to be form letter notification, filled out daily via manual typewriter in great quantities by War Department.
First question for an inquring Freeper to ask of his lardness: where is this mythical uncle buried? If the remains were never returned to the states, I call BS on the whole premise of his gaseous emission.
