The embassy went on to say US citizens are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. DUH. The embassy is not a travel agent.

Once upon a time U.S. citizens could go to the embassy where they could be protected by Marines then evacuated by the U.S. military.
But that’s when we had adults in charge.
