1. The mentally ill want to get “married” just because it debases, ridicules, mocks, and devalues real marriages.

2. The government compounds the issue by assigning certain benefits, entitlements, privileges, and so forth to married couples. It’s the unintended consequences of the govt.’s misguided social engineering and constant meddling in citizens’ lives that makes the mentally ill want to get married in the first place.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t even care.

As they did with gay marriage when "civil unions" were first proposed, liberals will say, "Oh, don't be absurd, that isn't what we want." Then, a few years later, they will demand it and call you a bigot for not supporting it.
