Now that we have seen the immigration bill House Speaker John Boehner has championed in the House of Representatives, we can have no doubt that Boehner and the establishment GOP in Congress have once again sold out Tea Party Loyalists to capitulate to President Obama and the Democrats on amnesty.
As the Washington-based Center for Immigration Studies reported last week, the House Homeland Security Committee rubber-stamped flawed border security bill (HR399) proposed by the committee chairman Rep. Michael McCaul, without meaningful improvements. Instead of listening to career Border Patrol and ICE agents committed to border security recommending to toughen penalties for immigrants illegally crossing our southern border with Mexico to enter the USA, HR399 will preserve the Obama administrations policies of catch-and-release.
Obama implemented catch-and-release specifically to allow hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, including the 57,000 unaccompanied minors from Central America that surged illegally into the U.S. last year, to be detained for a few hours or days before being released to join friends and relatives throughout the USA who are also here illegally.
Democrats and open-border GOP in Congress destroyed the historic Secure Fence Act of 2006, pushed through Congress by Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter, then representing San Diego in the House, by attaching language to a DHS appropriations bill that stripped from implementation the requirement of the bill that mandated the building of between 600-700 miles of double-fencing along the Mexican border.
The immigration bill championed by Boehner this year requires only 48 miles of double-fencing to be built on the border, a far cry from the 6700 miles of double-fencing that Duncan Hunter felt in 2006 was the bare minimum

Be a lot easier to just start tossing employers in jail.
Just a taste of things to come over the next two years as we witness what “Republican control” of the legislative branch is really all about. Its starting to look like Republicans are bigger liars than the Democrats.
“Once in the United States, the illegal immigrants can expect from the Obama administration and the double-crossing GOP establishment leaders in Congress nothing less than asylum, with a grant of amnesty to follow, all topped off by Social Security numbers, work authorization green cards, a full range of state and federal welfare benefits, state-issued drivers licenses, and voting rights. “
The next POTUS can reverse this, but probably won't as Dems point out happily.
I never had any illusions at all about the establishment supporting amnesty, so I don’t see how it can be called a double-cross. Likewise, I’m absolutely certain that the establishment ran away from the amnesty issue, refused to talk about it even, during the last election.
It is true that local candidates used the issue, but I cannot remember a single time one of the establishment leaders supported an anti-amnesty approach.
I honestly think they do not represent me, and also be brutally honest with you, I don’t think the establishment Republicans are the ones who are different. Reagan was the exception. These mealy-mouthed, spineless, lovers of big government are the norm for the republican party.
For some reason — Reagan mostly — I took up the name ‘republican’. Other than that I don’t really fit with these people.
I heard someone complain a while back about people like me being the actual “republican in name only” rinos.
I’ve decided I agree with that. Reagan was a rino. I am a rino. I am a small government, pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Gun, pro-natural Marriage conservative. That is not republican.
I read an article this weekend about Bush 1 throwing many of Reagan’s conservatives out immediately after he was elected. There is a plan and if your not promoting the plan, whether your Republican or Democrat, your going to be destroyed.
Who didn’t see this coming when Bonehead, Pelosi, Reid and McConnell rammed thru the Cromibus bill.
It’s ILLEGAL today...so what’s going to change in 2 years aside from (some) of the resents in D.C.?
Seems strange to have faith that D.C. will clean and police ITSELF when it obviously cannot even understand the Constitution.
No double cross here......the Establishment PROMISED us amnesty.
once again this government in DC has effed over the American people to accommodate the establishment agenda of dismantling the country for the cause of the NWO. This is not going to stop.
Boehner...bought and sold. McConnell sameo sameo.
Last House session (2013 to 2014) I remember Boehner promised on immigration (not budgets) :
1) A series of separate bills each to be passed independently of the others
2) To only put a bill up for a vote that had more than half the GOP caucus support, which I guess he didn't have, but now he has more members this session.
I don't recall any promises on substance of what would be in the bills.
Drunkin Boner said many times that Obama needed to give the Republicans a chance to “FIX” immigration. There is only one way to interpret this. “Amnesty-Lite” which means full amnesty in application.
I've been saying the same now for quite some time. They aren't the RINO's, people like Reagan and Cruz are the RINO's. We need to quit using that term to describe these people because I'm sure they relish in the irony.
They aren't RINO's they are CINO's (Conservatives in name only).
BTTT
After Obama gave temporary amnesty to the ‘kids’ and won re-election many in the GOP wanted congress to give them permanent amnesty under the rationale that they are victims, GOPs Plan A.
But now he has extended it to their illegal relatives many of whom probably brought them (the kids in 'plan A') here in the first place, causing the problem, what Jeb Bush called ‘An act of love’.
Never any talk of punishing them for ‘creating the victims’
Now if the GOP tries to pass their Plan A then the Dems will accuse them of splitting up families.
You sized it up quite accurately.
