for many people, they do not qualify for jobs that exist.

why don’t they qualify?

for many, the reasons stretch back to high school when they were too busy getting stoned to absorb the basic education. due to that negligence, they failed to get into college... which led them on a path to where they are today.

couple that with a victim based mentality, and you have someone that is fundamentally unable to pull themselves out of the depths to push for higher education or at least a better career.. especially after they start committing crimes

In my experience, many, maybe most truly poor people are low functioning. When your IQ is borderline retarded it’s unlikely that you will make wise decisions in life.

My brother was adopted out of foster care. He is an adult living on his own who gets a great deal of guidance from my parents and still manages to make plenty of dumb choices. He is still ahead of his friends (about the same or lower IQ than him) who have no one higher functioning to help them.

I’ve know some super smart people who did not go to college. To them, it was a waste of time and money getting in the way of what they wanted to do.

People who want to work for others and compete for jobs go to college, mostly. Some people just start businesses with their college money and go to town.
