In November up here in the UP of Michigan we had 36 inches of snowfall in one day. It was the wet heavy stuff though = snowblower attachment broke 6 shear pins cleaning out the snow. Took a couple of days for the area to be cleaned out by county and city crews as it was the starting of deer hunting season. deer hunting season was hampered by the snowfall, lower number of deer harvested. I did not have a lower number of deer harvested nailed two deer from November 15 - Dec 23 with the car.
A few years ago they had so much snow out in parts of Washington State that some of the ski resorts had to close. The snow was so deep that the ski lifts couldn't be operated.
2-3 feet of snow in the Northeast is a massive storm.
THIS is like something your mind can't even grasp:
I believe this photo was taken up on Chinook Pass in June of 2011, at the end of a winter season when they had 860 inches of snowfall (that's more than 71 feet.
Now this NYC area storm seems like a piece of cake. LOL.
What a good story!!
