BELARUS HAS OFFICIALLY PUBLISHED a new version of the law "On martial law." The document is revised after the invasion of Russia in Ukraine, will take effect from 1 February 2015, reports LB.ua.

According to the document, the emergence of the country military unmarked ("little green men" in the Crimea) is now officially considered Belarus a type of attack that threatens the territorial integrity and sovereignty. In an open annexation Belarusian territory, rocket and bombing and air strikes on another country or use weapons against Belarus, the updated law is written as "send in another State of armed bands (groups) and regular forces or regular forces."

The law is very clear the events that are to be officially considered a military threat that is sufficient for the introduction of martial law in Belarus. For such threats include the concentration of the armed forces of another country near the border of Belarus if it clearly indicates aggressive intentions or in another state of mobilization to attack in Belarus.

With the introduction of martial law will not be able to dissolve one of the two chambers of the Belarusian parliament, even if the expiry of their powers, and also continue the current powers of the President. Citizens of the country at that time prohibited the collection and dissemination of any information relating to the Armed Forces and of territorial defense, participate in rallies, pickets and demonstrations, as well as the acquisition of hunting weapons and ammunition.

The law imposes a number of obligations on Belarus: All citizens who have reached the age of 16 may be involved in free work for defense, elimination of consequences of the use of weapons, restoration of damaged facilities and so on. Force the work will not only men over 60 and women over 55. Also, citizens are obliged to provide their existing residential and commercial premises for defense needs and accommodate immigrants (for it provides compensation).

Recall that in March 2014 the Russian military unmarked captured local authorities in the Crimea, which led to the annexation of the peninsula Russia. Since April 2014 and until now the Russian military personnel are in the Donbas, where are fighting against the Ukrainian military, but Russia does not officially recognize the presence of its army on Ukrainian territory in spite of all the evidence.

Are you sure that this is not Lukachinko trying to enhance his power against the West? I think it is. Putin and Lukachinko have been playing this game long enough, and there is evidence that Russia is using Belarus to sanctions bust.

Belarus is completely integrated into the Russian military and economic space.

Its too late to talk about LGM. The idea Belarus has ever been a sovereign state is a complete joke - its an accident of history.

"Belarus is completely integrated into the Russian military and economic space."

And always has been.

Closer than even Ukraine, another accident of history.

Sounds like Lukashenko is wishing he hadn’t been a Putin ass-kisser for so long.

Belarus has only been a part of Russia since the first time Russia invaded it.

Lukashenko dreamed once of having Putin’s job, uniting Belarus and Russia under his control.
