The Donald is correct - Mitt choked - he did have that election won - then sat back on his heels while he listened to the so-called experts, who advised him to go soft after that first debate. It was like watching the air escape from a balloon - it was a pitiful thing to watch.
That might be the case. If it is, it showed that he'd be a terrible president. He didn't have the instincts to understand that conservatives never quite trusted him, and going soft made us realize he wouldn't stand up for our principles. For the undecided, going soft meant he didn't create a vision of a better future. He didn't have advisors that would lead him to inspiring an excellent constitutional conservative message.
Or maybe for the likes of Romney, Jed, and Christie, and all the others who regard constitutional conservatives as voting fodder, we are the enemy to be defeated.
” sat back on his heels while he listened to the so-called experts, who advised him to go soft”
That is correct, and two of those “experts” who advised him, that since he already had it won, he only had to act “presidential” were the warrior editors of their respective magazines, Rich Lowery and William Kristol.
