Black Lives Matter Protest Fizzles at Modern Language Association

The Black Lives Matter protest movement, found its way to the Modern Language Association (MLA) convention in Vancouver, but failed to attract much support from the left wing attendees.

With an estimated 7,000 left-wing professors and their protégé’s in attendance the protest managed to only attract about 150 people or so who listened to a litany of speeches vilifying police actions against blacks across the country. After the speeches it was time to actually march and more than half of those assembled apparently decided that their dedication to this issue didn’t extend to spending any time in the 40 degree Vancouver weather.

I’m sure the organizers hoped to make a bigger splash considering both the size and makeup of the convention attendees, but it only proves that the Black Lives Matter movement is even too fringy for most left-wing academics.

I can’t figure out who it was that said black lives didn’t matter? Maybe it was the pro abortion lobby who support the killing of tens of thousands of black babies each year. It must have been the pro abortion people. They are enthusiastic about killing babies, especially black ones.

It also includes the likes of the “Rev.” JJ, who’s done nothing to stop the rampant black drug gang crime that regularly claims the lives of 500 or more young black males each year in Obola’s city.

Because what they really mean is that "black criminal lives matter over and above the lives of the cops who must deal with them and the innocent people they victimise". Their parameters for their meaning of "black lives" is very narrow, and they become downright belligerant at anyone who amends it to "all lives matter". They themselves don't even mean "all black lives", hence the ignoring of the high rates of black-on-black crime, much less the disproportionate rates of black-on-non-black crime.

The fact that black abortions don’t quite jibe with the black lives matter narrative is probably what killed it. Also when some college president got in trouble and had to apologize for tweeting “ALL lives matter”.

But it's an American article. 40°C is hot for July in Canada, and Vancouver is on the coast and has a moderate climate.

40°F = 4°C, which is about right.
